the Bradbury Science Museum in Los Alamos is a must see. It does a great job describing the Manhattan Project with multimedia but also explaining difficult Science in a way that's engaging for adults. Most science museums are not up to date or geared for kids only. Nuclear medicine, nanotechnology, cutting edge fuels in details. There's a lot interactive for kids too.

Thank you Mr John Pratt! The time spent with you was a highlight of our trip! It was only 1/2 hour if a 10 day trip, but it was memorable

My wife and I, as scientists, tend to nerd out on things like this. There are several buildings that are original to the of the Los Alamos Laboratories. From that initial effort, came the atomic bombs that ended World War II, and kept us even with Russia. Los Alamos itself is an interesting city as well. Recommended

One can debate what was done here and why and if the scientists really realized what they were doing but the actual park on it's own merits is incredibly well done and worthwhile visit. From the lodge, the museum, the pond, the bathtub row of houses... the original farming area small wooden house and the rock pit houses.. it's all here the last 1000 years very interesting.

As we were discovering everywhere, the people running the museum and houses for the Manhattan Project are extremely friendly and helpful. The gentleman running the museum in the old Rough School building is knowledgeable and friendly about the Manhattan Project's history. He'll point you on your way to the historic sites outside, including the next house that is set up like the 1950s that you can tour. Here, you will find another friendly and helpful person who is ready to answer questions. She pointed us in the direction of Oppenheimer's house, which is across the lawn. You can look in the windows and see restoration work. The former owner died recently at 100 and gave the home to the park. The historical park is well worth your time, but if you expect to see any of the old project buildings, you will be disappointed. Next to nothing exists.

Fair at best although interesting. You can can a sense of what it was like but it has to be left to the imagination.

While the museum or any similar parts to this attraction were not open in March 2021, I greatly enjoyed spending outdoor time around Ashley Pond. The natural beauty of the park is underrated. The picnic benches, trails, fountains, and green spaces are of the utmost quality and beauty. It’s such a nice location to cycle, jog, hang out with friends, and experience the atmosphere of Los Alamos. This had been my first time visiting the city, and it certainly won’t be my last.

Please take my word for it and check out this park! It’s free, it’s safe, and it’s amazing!

We enjoyed this "outdoor museum". There is so much history in this area and it's all has quite a mysterious feel to it as well. A must see here!

A nice drive From Santa Fe. There are minimal remains of the original WW2 buildings. "The hill" was spread out over several miles. It's hard to know where to start but it seems reasonable to start at the visitor center of the Manhattan Project Nat. Historic Park , with a very small historical exhibit and friendly staff (15'). Next, the Los Alamos Museum has more detailed history exhibits (30'). Finally, the Bradbury Science Museum, a top-notch, well funded, science museum for all levels of interest (60-120'). Also, an excellent children's learning center.
I wish the first two-mentioned centers were combined to tell a clearer story of Los Alamos and the Manhattan Project. Overall, worth a visit.

This is a 2 room National Park. The volunteers are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. There is a film. This is a place to get an introduction.
