This museum packs a lot of artifacts in a small space and it all works great. Military artifacts from the revolutionary war up to the current day are proudly displayed in this location. A must see for history enthusiasts.

The museum has a wonderful collection of artifacts, uniforms, etc. Well-presented time lines and themes. Very helpful docent guides. Good videos.

As I was preparing my elderly uncle's home for the closing, I donated his duffle bag and uniform to the museum. On a return visit a few days later with more military items, I saw his uniform displayed. In viewing it, I took photos of the display, and showed them to my uncle who was in his hospital bed. It put a smile on his face. I do want to point out that the museum is well laid out, and it is a real tribute to the men and women who served their country. I highly recommend a visit to the see it.

Somehow, I had misread their website, and on Friday (9/15), we drove to Woonsocket to visit this Museum. We found everything locked up tight, since they are closed on Fridays. As we were standing in the parking lot, contemplating what to do now, a volunteer at the Museum came into the parking lot. He had been to the Post Office nearby, and saw us standing there forlornly.
He made a call to the founder, and we were delighted that he was advised to unlock the door, and give us a tour. There is a flight of stairs to climb, as this 2 year old Museum is on the second level, however, an elevator is in the works.
We were amazed at how much military history memorabilia there is in that auditorium type room. Almost all the focus is on the brave military men and women from Rhode Island. Everything is so well displayed that you bond with the exhibits immediately. There is a photo of the person in uniform and nearby are keepsakes from his/her life before the military and after. You can see which street he lived on (Do not miss the Page Street Boys exhibit), which schools he went to, and then his canteen, various medals, helmets, weapons, etc.
The day we were there, it was very hot, so we did not dwell on the exhibits as long as we would have liked. The collection and display are amazing. A "Do not miss" in Woonsocket.

We were fortunate to meet the curator while at the American - French Genealogical Society and he happily opened the museum on an upper floor. This is his extensive personal collection of various artifacts. It is housed in an old one level auditorium and is extrememly interesting for anyone with a passion for military history and an interest in this type of memorabilia. He has a significant number of items and it is no wonder that he decided to utilize a space to store and display a collection that he is clearly passionate about. Certainly worth a visit and easy to arrange.
