It is good for kids and they accept credit cards as well as contactless payments. It is historic and is at the intersection of Washington and State streets.

of classical building in amongst the skyscrapers. Really beautiful and classical- quite nice especially next to the concrete carbuncle of City hall around the corner

We heard someone protraying John Rowe talk about his life and times before the Boston Massacre. We were allowed to sit at the table or box window seats. We had time to ask questions. When we were done there was a National Park person giving an account of the Boston Massacre. Where the marker is on the ground you will see bricks from that time period.

This is one of the sites along the Freedom Trail that has quite a few exhibits inside. 1 ticket gets you admission to Old South Meeting House and the Old State House. They have quite a few exhibits inside detailing what Boston was like during the early part of the Revolution including an exhibit on Crispus Attucks. It's about midway through the Freedom Trail and you can easily spend an hour or two here.

I enjoyed my visit to the old state house. Tune into the audio tour on the national park app. Look out from the balcony where the Declaration of Independence was read. Also I just love the lion and unicorn even though I realize these are British symbols.

We stopped here in our tour of Boston. We enjoyed the self guided tour, but we encountered a wonderful lady who worked there and gave us so much interesting information. We loved this stop, and I wish I could remember the ladies’ name, so I could include it in the review. She was great and even gave us some subway tips! There’s so much history in this wonderful museum with the Boston massacre site just outside and the famous balcony!

The Old State House building is currently a museum, and it's worth an hour to look around on the inside. First of all, admire the elegant spiral wood staircase in the middle of the building. Various rooms have many exhibits from the late 18th Century -- there's even a glass vial of tea from the Boston Tea Party, recovered from the boot of a participant (the tea, not the vial...).
The large room on the east side of the second floor can be visited that has the balcony that overlooks the Boston Massacre Site marker. A photo out the window here works well to capture both the current marker as well as the original site which is actually under the asphalt of the traffic intersection further beyond.
The Freedom Trail Walking Guide says the cupola of the Old State House was once the highest point in the city -- hard to believe today!

There is something about being in an old building such as the Old State House. It is very interesting going in all the different rooms and seeing/reading about events that took place during that time period. It's more of a museum tour that you do on your own. There isn't a guide.

It is free to tour. The following are excerpts from their website:
1. Tours begin in the State House Annex.
2. All tours are offered free of charge.
3. Self-guided tours are not available. Staff and volunteer tour guides escort visitors through the building, explaining its history, art and architecture, and the legislative process
4. Reservations are not needed for groups with fewer than 10 people
5. Tours are offered Monday through Friday on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, on the hour from noon to 3 p.m. All tours begin in the State House Annex.

I spent maybe 45 mins to an hour. But you can break off when you like or simply walk around yourself. Tour is worth it for information. No extra charge I remember.

They're very close to each other.
I didn't tour Fenway, but took pictures after leaving the State House. I was very impressed with the knowledge our tour guide demonstrated , & the history there is something you may not learn about unless you visit.

Hello,
I am interested in visiting and just wonder how long the tours take. I'm interested in the Old State House Tour on the hour and the Boston Massacre tour on the half hour. The building looks beautiful.
