If you are in Boston on the first Friday of the month, this is the place to go for a fun evening. You are greeted by historic characters and then escorted to your table. Each table seats ten guests plus one colonial character. My table was blessed with the presence of Rachel Walker, the future Mrs. Paul Revere. She was very engaging with the guests and gave us advice in character. There were historic discussions between Samuel Adams and John Hancock, as well as greetings from the tavern keeper and his wife. We had a colonial style feast, followed by singing, dancing, and even colonial games. I had a great time and highly recommend this event.

Our group of six really enjoyed the dinner and show. The food and drink was surprisingly good, but the show was even better. The cast stayed in character the whole evening and really engaged the audience, loved the tavern keeper and his wife. We played tavern games, did sing-a-longs, and did a little dancing. There was one character at the end of each table, would have been better if they were seated in the middle of table. We weren't able to interact or hear much of their conversation. We still loved it and would recommend it.

Often it is when a tour goes awry that the customer service can really be put to the test and either shine or be less than ideal. In this case, it was shining! First the tricky part: my husband had been working in Boston all week, and this was his one night off. We had a lot of other options, but we picked Tavern Nights because it looked fun and interesting. We were very excited. We received confirmation of the tour, as is evidenced by this email, and we took a Lyft from our hotel to the location.
When we arrived at the location that the ticket told us to go to, the place was closed, and we started making phone calls and no one was answering. As luck would have it, two people entered the vestibule who worked for the tour company.
When we told him who we were looking for, hoping we were just in the wrong place and that we could still have our dinner and tour, they informed us that that tour been canceled. In fact, it had been canceled even before we booked it and they said we never should’ve been allowed to book it.
Now the solution: We reported the problem to the tour company who immediately refunded or money. Since we were also out Lyft money and our only big night was now in disarray, they also credited us towards a future tour. We then received an email, a phone call, and a mailed personal letter from Trusted Tours. These folks are dynamite, and though we were disappointed, we very much look forward to attending any tour with them in the future.
The amazing customer service of the Trusted Tour team gets 5 stars!

We love historic dining experiences and have been to many up and down the east coast but this is our favorite. An immersive dinner with a full bar of great drinks, we had dinner with Sam Adams while many of his revolutionary friends hosted the other tables around us. After dinner we had some games, singing and dancing and a chance to feel what it might have been like at a colonial tavern where everybody knows your name. We will certainly plan our future trips to Boston around the chance to come back here again.

The highlight of our New England Thanksgiving trip. We all absolutely loved it! We were thrilled that our trip coincided with this trip in time back to join the Sons of Liberty in revolution against the oppressive British crown. History, dance, song, humor and a wee bit dangerous (wink). When in the Boston area, it is a must attend!

This was a great dinner theater featuring singing, dancing and even a few jokes.There was a full menu of food and bar full of colonial drinks. Each table had one of the characters sit with them and interact. If you come with a bigger group, you can have a whole table otherwise you may be combined with others.

When we return to Boston, we will plan our trip around the dates for the Tavern Night... this is the absolute best. We were served a delicious period dinner, drank glog, and ate with Paul Revere and his wife, who stayed in character throughout. Sam Adams and John Hancock were also there, as well as an ornery Redcoat who the patriots managed to outwit. We sang revolutionary songs, played a word game that was hilarious, and did a period dance. I danced with Paul Revere. How cool is that? Honestly, this was so much fun that I would have paid twice the price. I highly recommend it. Tavern Nights are the second and fourth Fridays of every month. Go!

Normally I would pass on something like this because it's often cheesy - but not here. Several other reviews mentioned how much fun it was, it delivered! The characters interact with you as their "guests" at the tavern and never break character, which was great. Don't go for the food as it's nothing special. Go for the fun and PLEASE PARTICIPANT because it really ramps it up. They singing and dancing was a hoot. Loved the Tavernkeeper character and his wife. Lots of fun for those who love history. Probably a bit boring for kids that are younger than teenagers. Great couples fun.

Every other Friday night the ship hosts a Tavern Night. It is an interactive dinner with singing, games, and storytelling. The food was good (roasted meats, bread, veggies, apples, cheeses, plus dessert) and plentiful; there were drinks available for purchase including time-period appropriate drinks like hot buttered rum... interesting, and tastes exactly how it sounds.
If you enjoy history and historical re-enactments, this is excellent. The acting is great and often quite funny. I found it very enjoyable, but find historical re-enactments uncomfortable in general (I can't tell if I am supposed to also pretend like I am from 1775 or like myself).
The one disappointing aspect of the tavern night is that you do not get to go on the ships. You are in the building next to the ships.

Always one of my favorite things in Boston the regular tour is great, informative, interactive and very well done. The museum is state of the art and really helps place the event within the importance of the early days of the Revolution. In June, we attended the tavern night and had an awesome time. The acting was great and not gimmicky. The musical entertainment was excellent and the staff did a great job of encouraging participation. The food was great as well. I recommend going in a group.
