Very cool class with great instructors

I came for a 2 hour glassblowing sampler course over the weekend. Great experience. The instructors were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Very fun experience.

Wonderful way to spend a chilly afternoon!

I purchased a private "glass blowing" lesson (with a coupon) for my husband and myself and we thoroughly enjoyed the class with our teacher, Pat. After a demo of how to safely make something from molten glass, we were hands-on paper weight artists! Pat offered to demonstrate making a vase, which did include some actual blowing and other more sophisticated techniques, and it was super fun to watch that. It was definitely a surprise to find that we wouldn't be able to take the paper weights or vase home with us that day (glass will explode if not cooled down properly in an annealing oven). I don't recall reading about that in any of the on-line or coupon literature. But, we look forward to picking them up next week and saying 'Hi' to the cheerful folks who own and run Diablo Glass School.

Cool experience

I went last month with my wife to a stained glass 4 hour class and it was a good experience. I honestly had no idea what the process was or what we were going to make but the instructors helped us through it one step at a time. Although I had never done it before, I ended up with a pretty unique stained glass decoration I'll be hanging on my Christmas tree, and my wife (with more experience) made a very nice flower design. It was a little expensive and parking wasn't the best but overall a great experience.

Good experience

Took family class for about 2 hours, making small glass, then watched blowing glass, it was good value for what I paid (25USD)
One thing a bit disappointed was that I could not bring back my glass, though they ship it with fee.

Great way to spend a few hours - personal class on glass blowing

I traveled with my wife during her recent business trip, and spent two hours at a private glass blowing class at Diablo. My instructor, Pat, was great. He was patient, helpful, and had great suggestions.
I've taken private glass blowing classes elsewhere, but the instructor always blew the glass and just let me do the shaping, coloring etc.
Actually getting to blow the glass made the whole experience more special.
During the two hours, I created three items of my choosing (I assume number of items is based on how well you get the hang of the process).

What a pleasure!

We've been wanting to learn about marble making and heard about Diablo Glass School. What a pleasure! The instructors were friendly, well-versed, able to answer our questions and happy to share interesting information. They were patient and wanted to teach us...all of our time was spent learning to work with glass and creating marbles using the designs and techniques being demonstrated. I was able to make seven marbles during the one session. I had one concern: One of Diablo's interns joined us in the workshop to work on his project and when his Mom came to pick him up he first refused to go and then he left a mess. This was resolved over a 30 minute time frame but it did disrupt the class. Street parking is available. We felt we received good value and we hope to take additional classes here again soon.

Great and Novel Experience

This activity jumped out at me as something other than eating and walking. I am so glad I tried it. I never thought that I would get the chance to mold and blow glass. Almost the entire class was hands-on making of souvenirs and very little was wasted on formalities that normally eat up time (filling out forms, introductions, safety rules, learning the names of everything). In the 2 hour class I made 5 different pieces. The instructor was helpful and polite and ensured that what I worked on came out well.

Caution, the pieces need to cure overnight so you have to return to pick up what you make or risk having them shipped. Also, the private 2 hour lesson was costly. If you book a two or three person lesson the cost is much less per person, but you will also leave with fewer pieces.
