Had American lobster here, served with bibs! We needed them, amazing tourist experience

This pub was great, we sat outside and were treated to the sight of horses giving tourists rides around Boston....the waitress was so good and answered our tourist questions very well. The oysters were very fresh and tasty, strange shells I hadn't seen before. Even served icecream with chocolate brownies for dessert.

Wonderful clam chowder

Irish pub but very locally situated and excellent food. Friendly and well priced - a delightful find and a menu that has something to please everyone

Changed hands but still open and making the best clam chowdah!

All the websites say it's closed, but I'm happy to say it's business as usual even though it's been sold.

I ran here as soon as I checked into the nearby Hilton and thankfully they are still making the best clam chowder I've ever tasted. The buffalo wings are also a standout.

It's a busy sports bar; ie. multiple TVs showing multiple sports simultaneously; and not my usual venue, but the food is fantastic, so I ignore it and dine happily.

New Ownership Worth a visit.

We were staying down the street walked in after leaving the other Irish bar a block away. (left there to find a place to eat oysters and have a seat) The place was empty and my wife said lets go. The manager came out and was really nice. He said that the place was just bought and the new owners are changing names. He offered us a seat and we went in. Good selection of beer. Had very good chowder and some of the best oysters I have had. It was $1 oyster and they were large and fresh. The manager said over the next month they were going to change a few things. When we go back I would like to see what they have done. With the personal service we received they should be good. Worth a visit

Small pub, great service

Stopped in here after the Bruins game. We watched the remaining minutes of the football game and shared some nachos. Standard pub but close to the Hilton and had great service. The waitress was very friendly.

Stopped for a drink,stayed for dinner

we stopped for a quick drink,ended up staying for dinner. Friendly staff,close to our hotel . Prices were good and food was what I expected for a bar.

Disappointed

Hotel suggested we go there for best lobster roll and lobster. Had just arrived into Boston. HUNGRY! No lobster and lobster roll very iffy!! Nice waitstaff

Pittoresco locale irlandese, e' indicato soprattutto per gli amanti dello sport. Sono infatti presenti numerosi schermi che trasmettono varie manifestazioni sportive(un paio trasmettevano la major league, un altro paio un torneo ATP, ed altri sintonizzati su sportcenter). Il cibo e' quello che si trova normalmente nei pub irlandesi ma sembra tutto piu' buono per la gentilezza del personale di sala e, appunto, per l'atmosfera molto "easy". Prezzi corretti e servizi igienici puliti.

Enjoyable Dinner

We had dinner at Barney Fanning's last evening (Saturday, August 23, 2014) and had an enjoyable meal. We both ordered off the daily specials menu. My wife had a shrimp, scallop and swordfish combo (on skewers) priced a reasonable $15 and I had the snapper, also priced a reasonable $15. Both were excellent. We also shared a bowl of the very good clam chowder. Our server was attentive and the staff pleasant. We will return.
