I went to get a custom frame on a very nice piece of art that I had just gotten. I got it framed during a sale, but the original price for the framing was over $450 so I expected high quality. I picked up the framed print and walked directly home. Upon opening it, I noticed a large and visible chip on the front of the black, wood frame that was very noticeable. I packaged it back up and walked back the next day to have it fixed and they refused to send it back. They glued a little piece back on but you can still notice the part where it fell off. They blamed me and said that it happened after I left the store even though it was like that when I opened the packaging. Absolutely horrible quality frame if it chips within a half hour of receiving it. I can’t believe they charge so much for custom framing with horrible quality. My frames from Target look so much better and are better quality. Would not recommend going here for framing!!!!!

centrally located in fenway area. near bakery and has a large store qith tons of variety . great staff who advise you the lateat offers and give you value for money .

Blick is probably unique among retailers in their desire that in-store customers pay as much as online shoppers - including the cost of SHIPPING. To quote them,
"This Preferred Customer Web Match Rebate price match benefit makes it so that, when a Preferred Customer checks out in-store, the total price of their collective items (after discounts, before tax) is automatically compared to what they would’ve paid if they bought the same cart of materials on our website (after discounts and shipping is factored in, before tax.) If this comparison shows that you would have paid less for all of these materials online (with shipping included) we will give you the lower online price in-store via an instant web match rebate at checkout . . . "
I bought three items that totaled $14.12 online, but I was charged $22.74.
My Web Match Rebate was 19 cents - whoopie!
My major objection is that their web site makes it appear that the online price is what you will be charged in the store. They do have a disclaimer, but it has quite low visibility, and likely will not show on the screen while you are checking on prices.
In store customer service is very good, but I'll be heading to Artist & Craftsman in Central Square from now on.

If you are a traveller looking for art stores is always a good choice , be it pencils , paints, brushes or paper. Also blicks is great for small gifts and art stuff for kids as well as the fully fledged artist. Staff know their stuff and are always friendly. I have used this store in Boston several times but most us cities have one , some bigger then others . Never know when you have the urge to pick up something new!

Enlouquecedor, bárbaro, reserve uma tarde inteira e sinta-se como um caçador de tesouros... Tem tanta novidade, tanta cor, tanto de tanto, que vc fica tonto, literalmente...Fui na loja da 6ª avenida em NY, amei!

canvas of every shape and size. All paints, acrylics pens etc. I love this store! The also have some good crafts and yarn deals. Framing too!

They always have great selection of anything art related supply from pencils to photo frames, and staff will help you find anything. You have to be quick if you parking in garage to make it for free. 10min is not really enough unless you just run in and out...

This place is an average art supplies store, there's nothing special about it, except it's rather big so it has lots of products. No scrapbooking supplies though, unfortunately for me :(

The management of this place has serious problems.
I placed an order to stretch a canvas painting, and they told me that they have to trim the canvas a little bit to be able to stretch it properly. I discussed with the guy who placed my order and decided the size will be 20*25, and it was written on the "order form". When I picked up my painting, and I double checked the "finished order form" with a girl working there, and made sure that the painting was 20*25, so I bought the framing kits of 20 inches and 25 inches. However, when I got home and tried to put together the frame, I found that the actual size of my painting was 20*24.
I called them the next day and just wanted to make sure that I have to exchange the framing kit of 25 inches to 24 inches. I was transferred three times on the phone, and finally i reached the manager of the framing department. He put me on hold for a long time, and finally he found the information about my order on the computer, and said: "this is very easy, just bring back the 25 and we will replace it with 24." I asked him: "do you or somebody else in your department owe me an apology?" He answered:" I am not familiar with the order, and I am the manager.Let me put somebody else on with you...."
This is one of the worst customer service I ever experienced! They made a mistake on their end, and caused me so much inconvenience: I have to carry this awkwardly-shaped metal kit on the train back and forth, then wasted a lot of time to return the kit..... All I need is one sentence from them: " We made a mistake and sorry for the inconvenience." Am I asking too much? I would expect any professional manager would apologize to the customer, but not the one from this store.
