Went there for the USGBC Welcome Party. It has a nice vibe to it and it has great views of Boston. Great place for events.

Great Reasons To Visit:
- You are renovating a kitchen or bathroom and you want unique / modern fixtures and counter-tops.
- You want to purchase extra-special upholstery or curtain fabric.
- You are shopping for unique floor tile or wall tile (back-splash) options.
- Your taste in furniture is traditional leaning modern. You are inspired by most interior design magazines. Not old-fashioned or rustic, but not avant-garde either. Basically, a lot of the furniture looks like Wayfair.com. (I'm not talking about quality! I'm talking about traditional / modern style.)
- You understand that most people will find these shops outside of their price range. You either have the money to spend, or you will not waste the shop-workers time unnecessarily. These shops are really intended for professional interior designers.
- There were a couple of rug shops that looked good. Do you need a rug?
- There was a great antique shop that was very interesting. I think everyone would enjoy browsing this. (Sorry I don't remember the names of anything.)
Reasons To Skip It:
- You are not renovating a bathroom or kitchen. You do not need upholstery or curtains.
- Since this is where the designers shop, you think there will be all kinds of weird, strange, avant-garde furniture and accessories. Surely, this is where you get something 'strange,' like pieces in the contemporary art museum. You're looking for something that will 'make the room.' No. There were only a couple of pieces that really made me stop and think, "Well that's different."
When I went, everyone was friendly and courteous. Be sure to check in at the front desk so they can give you a 'Visitor' name tag.

You cannot buy any of the top of the range products in the Centre. You have to do that through the agents in each showroom. Being a visitor from the UK was amazed by the truly fabulous and inspirational styles and household accessories on offer in the large individual showrooms.. The Centre in the Seaport District is fairly easy to get to using the T system silver line from Downtown.

Just to walk around the place, there are some fantastic small businesses and larger showrooms inside. A bit out-of-the-way, but great during a bike ride around the city.

I'm redesigning my home and gave this center a try. What a resource! Helpful, talented people throughout. Can't purchase here but it is a great resource for ideas. Definitely will return.
