Jeremiah Poope was our guide for the Freedom Trail-he was awesome!! Very knowledgeable and entertaining. We would highly recommend taking his tour.

Joined a tour with “Dr Byles” and it was really fantastic. He was engaging and informative as he led us on the freedom trail. He had a really lovely way of making it very personal which created a very nice group environment. Thanks Dr Byles!

We had a lot of fun with our tour…the guide was knowledgeable, fun, related well with various ages and helped us go away with great memories. The guide, Jeremiah Poope, obviously enjoys his craft, and shares that enthusiasm with others!
I’m was also GREAT that he had voice amplification so that everyone in the group could hear it all (unlike many similar tours)

Ben Soloway (Dr. Mather Byles) was an engaging, entertaining, fun and VERY knowledgeable tour guide. His tour is definitely suitable for everyone, little ones to grandparents. If you're thinking, 'Should I take this tour?' the answer is 'Definitely' especially if Dr. Byles is your Guide.

This tour was great! The tour guide, Isaiah Thomas, was awesome. He told such captivating and funny stories about history and his delivery was excellent. No boring history lessons here. He held our attention the entire way, and was an excellent guide watching out for the safety and needs of the group. Couldn’t ask for a better tour of the history of boston!

Dr. Byles did an absolutely fabulous tour for us! He was so knowledgeable and witty , while answering questions all in a timely manor. His knowledge put the Freedom Trail in such an amazing historical perspective. We had a teen with us and she loved it too.

What a fantastic wonder around the historic sites. Thanks so much to Jeremiah Poope who made the experience so illuminating (& we appreciated the warm up in the ‘barracks’ whilst learning about the Boston Massacre. 100% recommend this can’t miss experience if coming to Boston

Jeremiah Poope was amazing! My brother and I are not the biggest fans of guided tours but the entire time we will laughing and engaged in Poope’s tour. He knows so much and was a great guide. The tour itself was also amazing. Not too much walking and lots of interesting stops. Highly recommend if in Boston!

My wife and I had the pleasure of having Rob Crean as our tour guide . Not only was he pleasant and informative but also a funny guy. Definitely a good time for us both.

Yes, there is a restroom at the Boston Common Visitor Center on Tremont. Quincy Market by Faneuil Hall has public restrooms inside. The National Park Service has restrooms in the lower level of Faneuil Hall. The USS Constitution offers restrooms just inside of the security check. Old North Church has restrooms behind their shop.

You buy tickets for the tour in the Boston Common at a little welcome center. There are clean restrooms there. After the tour starts you will not have an opportunity to use a restroom. The tour only lasts about 1.5 hours. If you stop to use the restroom you’ll lose the group. There were no public restrooms on the route they we took.

I am thinking of taking my family on the tour next week. Can you tell me what time you booked it for? we have two kids, 11 and 13 and I am concerned on size of group and if it will hold their interest?
Also, we saw that it does not allow you into all the paid sites, do you feel you feel you missed out?

You can book at private tour if you wish to avoid the crowds. I did that for my mom and I and it was worth every penny. No rowdy, disinterested school kids or people asking annoying questions. A 2.5 hour private tour cost about $200.

You may pick up tickets in the shop at Boston Common. People showed up at the last minute to get tickets. It didn't seem like there's a maximum limit. We bought the Go Boston Card and found it to be a good value. Freedom Trail was included. This was the most informative part of our trip. Skip the hop on and off trolley.

I don't know that they cover the EXACT same information, and I'm certain they add their own flair, but I would think that booking both would be duplicative.There are 16 official sites on the Freedom Trail, and I believe Boston Freedom Trail covers 9-10 of them. What I did, when traveling with the same concern, was do the Boston Freedom Trail tour, then go back to the sites we didn't hit and get them myself (With the self-guided tour map), then I took Free Tours by Foot tours with other "themes."
Whatever you end up doing, I hope you have a great trip to Boston!

Has anyone ever experienced the African American Patriots tour as a part of the Freedom Trail? I plan to visit Boston with my two kids 12 and 9 as a part of an end-of-year trip where we studied colonial America. We've covered things such as the Boston Massacre, etc.; however, I would also like to incorporate some African American history. I'm trying to determine if the tour highlights some of the main facts that we covered Paul Revere, Boston Massacre, things like that as well as incorporate the viewpoint from African American Patriots as well. Or if it's only covers information from African American Patriots, but does not include some of the basic facts that we also learn this year. Thanks for any insight you can shed.

Sorry, I do not remember hearing anything about African Patriots while on the Freedom Trail.
