What a great experience! My family and I did the Western themed room through a Groupon. We were greeted immediately upon entry by Mark who explained all the rules and other details. Although I haven't done many escape rooms to compare this one with I thought that this room itself was reasonably challenging and super fun! In addition to the Western themed room there were also 3 additional rooms VooDoo, Medieval and Science. Parking might be a little challenging since Lockdown is located in the heart of Hillcrest and so of course be aware of parking signs and keep your eye out for street parking! Would definitely come here again to try another room and recommend others to try it as well!

My boyfriend and I have made escape rooms a part of our new activity experience when visiting new cities. We were visiting San Diego for the week and decided to do all 4 rooms because they were nicely decorated and the puzzles were exciting to solve. Our favorite room was the Science Room. There were 3 staff members (2 men and 1 woman) and they were very helpful and welcoming. They were the reason we decided to return back to complete the last two rooms. (October 11-12).

Western Room- This room was pretty cool. Loved the beginning even though we ended up solving it the non traditional way. Don't over think it and remember to communicate your findings and you'll be fine. The room its self was not difficult at all. The thumbing is very good and the puzzles aren't too challenging. It was the right amount of easy for us. This was our first of 4 rooms for he night so we wanted an easier room to warm us up. I recommend this room if you are newer to escape rooms as I believe it offers a good mix of some common puzzles. The location was easier to find, there is metered parking on the street. The lobby area was nice and they have some awesome props to pose with in your victory photos! Our game masters were very attentive and made the experience super fun, they even stayed to talk with us for a bit afterwards, which we always appreciate!
Only reason I took off 1 star was because of a physical puzzle in the room which the GM had to come fix for us because we had been solving it another way which caused a piece to fall out of our reach. To fix this in the future I would simply magnet the item to the piece or hook it onto it so that it can't be knock off so easily.
Overall, Western was a fun room if you are looking to kill some time in SD. I would like to come back and try their other rooms as well.

I have been to a few escape rooms around SD and this one was hands down one of the best! The production value and creativity was seriously top tier! I would HIGHLY recommend this escape room to anyone who loves a good puzzle. I liked that it was challenging but also logical enough to be figured out. We got out in about 45 min so we were pretty excited about that! But it was definitely a great challenge! I wish I could do it again!

Great experience. We were able to escape in about 45 minutes and it was very fun. Our group was four of us and we had a blast. Great service as well, we had a tour booked for 845 and they accommodated us about 40 minutes early (we finished our dinner earlier than we thought).

My husband and I did the Medieval Room; his first time in an escape room and my second. It was a lot of fun; challenging without being overwhelming. It probably would have been a little easier with more than two people, but it's definitely possible with just two. Shout out to Nina who was great with the hints when we got a little stuck- we had a fantastic time!

2nd escape room with 4 other friends. Difficult start but Nina, the woman in charge was very encouraging and cleverly helpful. Very well laid out clues, but we didn't quite make it. Definitely going back for another room!

Awesome escape room, we had so much fun!!! Didn’t escape but Nina did an amazing job helping us with our hints! Wish we lived closer so we could try the other rooms.

Our visit was for a family birthday no teens, all adults; but your selection only allowed for teens or small children. You should broaden the selection for sort of visit . We had a great time doing something new and different and felt our room was well thought out!!
