Awesome rums! The silver and gold are excellent, the pecan honey is out of this world. The special releases are just that: SPECIAL! We got to sample this year's Shipwreck and it's like a rum Snickers bar. The folks are really good people and fun to chat with. The drinks in the bar (featuring their rums, of course), are really inventive and super tasty. All-in-all, this is the best craft distillery we've been to out of over a dozen in several states. You really need to try their rums! We are definitely going back when we visit OBX!

This is a great little rum distillery where you can actually walk into the distilling room and see the process going on as well as see the wooden kegs fermenting the next batch. Our server was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He gave a slightly different story of the Kill Devil name than we had heard elsewhere (he said it was due to alcohol used medicinally, thus it killed any devils inside of a person that was making them sick. Someone else told us it was because it was so strong it could kill the Devil himself.)

Three flavors are offered, silver, gold, and pecan. Tastings are free. Staff was friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They offer some clothing - depicting the “Kill Devil” logos, plus molasses and other options. There is also a bar within the store itself, for sampling of different drinks made with the 3 rum flavors. Be sure to check exactly when the establishment is open, as they were closing on days they were usually open for a special event when we were there.

Always love visiting the Distillery. It is definitely is like a cheers of the Outer Banks and it is just fun to be there. The owners are wonderful as well.

Quick, fun and great visit. Bartender was friendly and informative as she pointed me to the right place for a taste and a purchase. The gentleman who sold me the rum was equally friendly and informative. I even got a free sticker.. hahaha.

I’ve been to the outer banks several times but this visit I was recommended to check out this distillery by two other local businesses!! I must say, I was not disappointed. I enjoyed the rum tasting and also sitting at the bar to have a drink. Matt was a good bartender. I will def go back! Obviously why I rated it a 5 out of 5!!! This is something to do if you like run! The rum was so smooth! They don’t add a lot of sugar.

Short day trip to Manteo to find this place. About one block off the Main Street, but easy to find. Employees were friendly and seemed to be very knowledgeable about the products. A little pricey at $12 for a mixed drink in comparison to other distillerys we have visited, but it was an interesting experience.

Every year we vacation in OBX. Every year we come here. The staff here is FANTASTIC! From the owners to the bartenders & cashiers. This year, we tried their rum slushees & had a Devil Killer. We also had fun with the gang, as they had no clue they were in a travel book/guide I had purchased before our first trip there. I got the guy in the book to autograph it LOL If you like rum, check them out! We always bring back a bag of rum soaked pecans, rum balls & rum cigars.

This was the last stop on Alcohol-Tasting Day for three couples. First we went to Outer Banks Brewing Station. Eh.
Then we went to the tiny Vineyards at Scuppernong in Manteo. Nope.
Next, we went to NouVines and experienced sophisticated relaxation.
Onto this Distillery for rejuvenating FUN. The vibe was great, the staff well-informed and responsive, the drink menu had something for all. Husband took home rum-infused cigars.

We stopped here in early July while on vacation. We were greeted right away and tried the rum samples, all which were excellent. Those pecans though...wow! Just YUM. We also bought the orange creamsicle drink which was just perfect. Do check this place out! You can play corn hole outside too while you enjoy your drink.

When we were there we couldn’t take a tour because of COVID. But, it didn’t appear very big. We had a drink in the bar and did a taste test at the counter. Not long at all. The people were very nice.

I honestly don't know if the Outer Banks Distillery is "pet friendly", but I kind of doubt it. Like the other person pointed out, the tasting room is indoors. Even though I believe the owners would be willing to accommodate pets if they could, the fact that they prepare a food product (rum), they probably can't legally allow pets in the building.

Nobody under the age of 21 is allowed in the distillery part of the building. It is a federally bonded warehouse which can not, by law allow minors. This means that they can go in the gift shop area, but as far as going on a tour, it's unlawful. I would say that if you're in Manteo and want to go on a tour and have children, to have someone who isn't interested take them for ice cream or a walk on the water front.
