This are is very historical from the early years of the settlement of Eddy County. Not a whole lot to see but if you are a history nuff and want some good information, here you go!

This a pretty cool place to visit for a few minutes and see some of the old history of Eddy county. Where else can you see a double hole outhose preserved?

The little park here near the Flume is nice but dry and dusty so not attracting the attention deserved. Definitely not a destination but worth seeing if you are nearby.

This is a sad little house on a sad little park. Little information regarding the house. The front door was padlocked, but a side, full length, window was missing. I wonder how long it will take for vandals to take it over.

We visited this park today with the house and the old aqueduct, neat, but not what it could be, more historical info would be appreciated

This whole park area has a lot of potential.
It seems that some of the problems notes before may have been taken care of like garbage and broken glass, but still a run down park.
With a great view of the Pecos Flume, River, a good location and some cool structures, this place has potential.
The grass is all dead, weeds growing, looks like a ghost town setting. There is a nice sign down on the road and what looks like a half built historical park that came to a screeching halt. With the history surrounding this place, you would thing Carlsbad could clean up the house, throw some old furniture in there and maybe take some of the water from that huge river 50 feet away and water the grass here?
This place does not need a lot of work, just a little TLC and some maintenance to be a nice place to visit.

Its a shame that Carlsbad can spend tons of money on new buildings while neglecting this fine old historical structure. There is trash every where and the landscaping obviously has no care. With all the water one would think Carlsbad could water the area. If Carlsbad takes no pride in this historical house, one would wonder what else is being neglected.
Not worth you time to visit as it is so depressing.

The Southeastern New Mexico Historical Society moved each stone of this historical house individually to Heritage Park. The house was a line shack for the ranch which belonged to Charles B. Eddy - the man who the town was originally named after. Enjoy the park, sit back and relax!
