请在你购买的船票前一个半小时或一个小时抵达排队通过安检，不要依照时间才到那很幼稚且不负责任。据说清晨的船班没有人搭乘可以快速上岛。

上皇冠要爬约一百多阶，听起来很多，但其实爬五分钟就到了，一点也不累，楼梯超窄仅能容纳一人，皇冠顶部的空间很小，大概只能站二个人，透过小小的窗口可以约略看到女神拿着火把的手，虽然如此我们仍然因为这难得的机会兴奋不已。

非常幸运预约到登自由女神像王冠的名额！虽然爬楼梯上去的过程有些累，但能在王冠内向外远眺天际线、也是极为难得而宝贵的体验。

虽然天气很热，但是这次旅行很棒。虽然游客队伍很长，但是乘船旅行的速度很快。岛上的饮料小吃价格很合理。自由女神像比我想象中要小一点。

预定了当天的第一艘渡轮来避开一些人群，大约在渡轮到达前15分钟到达，而且队伍还在不断壮大，但一切都进展得相当顺利。他们会打包邮轮，所以如果你想要一个座位，那就抢先去吧。如果你想在栏杆旁拍照，那就去吧。我们没有去平台或皇冠——主要是在外面拍照和参观博物馆，这样挺好。

Visitors climb 354 steps to reach the crown and 192 steps in order to reach the top of the pedestal. There are 25 windows in the crown which symbolize 25 gemstones found on the earth. The seven rays of the Statue's crown represent the seven seas and continents of the world

How much time should we allow for a crown visit in total? We have a flight from EWR and hoping to visit the statue before we fly. The airport bag drop closes at 5pm. The only times available for the crown reserve start from 12pm. I see it’s around a 15 minute drive to the airport from the New Jersey terminal. Obviously we don’t to cut it too fine for the flight, but if we skipped Ellis island and just went straight for the crown visit with no hanging around, would this be doable? Thanks

I agree. If you just want to get to the statue, run up to the crown, take a picture, run back down and to the next boat and skip Ellis Island, you might be able to do it in 3 hours. But I would recommend you take your time. Lucky you for getting a ticket to the crown well in advance! All sold out when I looked and no way to get there without a bought in advance ticket.

After reaching Liberty Island, the Park Service website talks about a secondary security screening for those entering the Statue of Liberty. They seem strict, so I was wondering if my family would be allowed to take binoculars. It's my understanding that there is an observation area at the top of the Pedestal.

As a follow-up, my kids each had a large pair of binoculars (hanging by a neck strap) and they were not a problem. Lots of people had binoculars or cameras with large lenses. Unfortunately, the day we went was foggy, so the views weren't so good, but the experience was well worth it.

Hello! I'm planning a family trip to the Statue of Liberty, and I have a couple questions, please!
From the Visit The Crown section, the National Park Service website says:
"Tickets are non-transferable. The names of those in your party must be provided at the time of purchase"... "The name on the ticket must match the name on the photo ID for each ticket holder."
It also says:
"Each ticket holder will be required to show photo ID (except minors without ID) matching the name printed on the ticket prior to entering the Statue of Liberty."
First question: My one daughter is 17 now, but will turn 18 in July. Our trip isn't until August. She doesn't drive and has no photo ID. Will she still be considered a minor at 18, or will this be a problem? If so, are there any acceptable substitutions? We're US citizens - would a US Birth Certificate work?
Second question: my older daughter will be working a job during the summer months, and may not be able to make the trip. The backup plan is to have her uncle go with us and use her tickets for the SOL, Empire State, a Broadway Play, etc. But obviously, his ID won't match the name on the SOL ticket. The rules from the National Park Service website were quoted from the "Visit The Crown" section. However, those tickets are sold out for our travel dates, so we'll be doing the Pedestal instead. Do those rules about the non-transferable tickets and having the names printed on the tickets still apply for the Pedestal ? I have no alternatives - if my daughter can't make the trip, will her uncle need to wait out in the car while everyone else takes the ferry and SOL tour?

As a follow-up, no one asked to see ID for our Pedestal Reserve tickets. It didn't seem to matter about the names on the tickets matching the ticket holders. Again, this is for the Pedestal Reserve Tickets, not the Crown tickets.

We have tickets to go up to the Statue of Liberty crown at 2pm from the NYC side. Will they let us board the ferry early so we can still make it Ellis Island? Or is there any way to see both as they say if you board at 2pm then there's not enough time to do both.

Hi! Thanks in advance for your help. I am looking at tickets for the Statue of Liberty through our City Pass. We would like to visit on Friday, May 10th - and ideally we'd like to be over there on one of the first ferries, but the earliest time I can get is noon. From my research, it sounds like a) they don't really care about the time on your ticket and b) you could need a ton of time to get through security. All that to say, does anyone know if we could show up closer to the 9:00 time slot with our noon tickets and scoot through without issue? Thanks!
