Non useró mai piu questa compagnia di bus!
All drivers are rude and incompetent.
I had a racist incident in June 2024, the driver did not accept my dog on board, despite presenting a service pet card. He was rough and made me get off the bus, calling the police.
Being a private company, the police, mortified, asked me to get off, advising me to proceed with a report against this bad bus company.
Repayment is still ongoing
All drivers are rude and incompetent.

Been there for an overnight layover to get back to Montreal and also when I went to Missouri and oh god people you can see there be scary and weird as pretty soon as I got out the bus I've got multiple people begging for money and didn't feel safe at all there for myself and my luggage . Not to forgot mentioning a big lack of security

I’ve been commuting through here for the past couple years.
To let all the visitors know it is a very good way to get around via the buses
Please understand it is not a hangout spot. The homeless is out of control and no fault of the police a lot of the people just throw trash and harass other people there.
There are plenty of places to eat around Port Authority, and hang out
My advice to you go to the information booth. Find out when your bus is leaving. Get your tickets and get out of the building until your buss is almost ready to go.
The one place that I do go in there is McCaan on the second floor in the south building it’s very nice bar and they have security to not let any riffraff in.

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting port authority a few times in the past few weeks to pick up my girlfriend when she came in to the city. What a dump this place is. It’s dark, dreary, outdated, and very confusing to get around. There also seems to be a constant presence of seedy characters around (which I guess is expected in a large bus depot). The one time I was desperate enough to use the bathroom here, I had the pleasure of witnessing a homeless man shoerwing in the sink next to mine as I washed my hands. Wonderful.
I do have to say, though, the location is pretty good (smack in the middle of midtown Manhattan, very accessible by subway), and the list of destinations from port authority is nearly endless. But it is unfortunate indeed that this dump of a place it the first taste travelers get of NYC as they step off the bus. What a shame.
NYC, if you’re listening, take a bit of the mountain of money set aside for redoing Penn station or LaGuardia airport and freshen up Port Authority a bit. It could use it.

This terminal is a vital point for mobility in the city. Its constant activity and services make it a nerve center for travelers.

What an amazing place - largest bus station in the world.
Clean and safe. Staff incredibly helpful
We took the 115 to jersey Gardens Mall
Driver was friendly and welcoming. Bus was new and equipped with safety belts
Cheap transport and hugely efficient.

A place that you have to know well because from here you leave for several places where almost all public transport services are available. We use it on several occasions and it is perhaps an excellent meeting point.

The Port Authority Bus Terminal is probably alot people's arrival point into New York City. I was first aware of it from the movie Desperately Seeking Susan which shows a brief scene there
I wanted to see what this place was like as I had heard of it. It is definitely unusual as the buses arrive in an area that is above the ground floor so passengers have to get the lift or escalator down to the ground to exit into the city.
The ground floor has a number of stores where you can get everything you may need for your journey and there is a concourse area so you can find your way with information notices saying where and when the buses are going.
The bus terminal is on 8th Avenue and close to Times Square so it is quite a bustling area. Whenever I was there it was always busy.

The cleanest public place I knew in New York, the floors shiny, with information points at the entrances, shops and restaurants, even pubs.

We need to no the best days to travel on the subway too Brooklyn, we will or planning to book September 10 depending on the busiest times , we’ve done it before and got type of scammed a man took our tickets and showing us how it works he used our tickets and got a free ride .We’re just English man in New York we will be arriving from either Boston or Woodshole ,i no its the blue line and not many stops and we will leave as we’ve done before to JFK many thanks
