If you are staying in or around Union Square, this is a great market to experience! There are several vendors selling a variety of foods, from pastries, eggs, meat, vegetables, and more specialty items, such as honey. The quality of the stuff there is very good, although some of the prices are on the high side. I have been visiting this market off and on for a while, and I have really enjoyed it...

Open all year round, this place offers a varied selection of goods from regional farmers, bakers, and fishmongers. The vendors are friendly and are proud of their offerings. Fresh cut flowers and seasonal goods are available too.

The last time we were here was before Covid. It seems to be still in a state of recovery with less energy and fewer vendors. We always loved the market but it will probably take some time before they are truly at full speed. Hopefully the next visit will be much better.

LOVE this place! I take the train from Connecticut specifically to go to this market! The selection of fruits and vegetables is vast and the freshness incomparable. The baked goods are equally as impressive! It is such a fun place to wander and purchase delicious, fresh and healthy products in a fun location!

Great market to walk through. Lots of local produce on offer plus other bits and bobs. We came through here on a Saturday and it was very busy. Worth a visit if your visiting the union square park anyway.

SO MUCH PRODUCE!! And so many other things, too! Honey, meat, eggs, wine, spirits, cheese, fish, baked goods, etc, etc, etc! From high end fancy expensive to good stuff cheap, if you need it they've got it

This place has so many wonderful, helpful vendors. Everything from baked goods, produce, meats, liquor, and jewelry. I wish I had time to shop. Come hungry! It's worth the trip!

Is the farmers market open every day? If not, when is it open.

The farmers market is open 4-days per week! Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. If you go Saturday, go early! It opens at 8am and if you arrive by 9/9:30 you may see some of the biggest NYC chef's shopping in the market.

I'm not sure they are usually open on Monday's. I would second the other reply and say that all the stalls probably won't be there. Do yourself a favor and buy some of the maple fudge. It's pure heaven. The ginger flavored ones aren't as good, they are harder, the pure maple ones are soft.
