“Enough bathrooms”

我对纽约剧院的一个抱怨是浴室稀缺。仍然有不可能的线路，但地下室有足够的女性摊位。持票人台词的演技和处理也不错。

我们在 Longacre 剧院看到了 Leopoldstadt。 我们坐在最右边的阳台上，离过道有2个座位。 虽然我们看不到舞台的近侧，但这不是问题，因为所有表演者基本上都在中央。 从阳台再飞一趟飞机就有一间浴室，而且并不拥挤。 唯一真正令人担心的（虽然它没有影响到我们）是阳台中间有 4 根从地板到天花板的柱子，在左右中央过道上，在 be 和 C 行之间。 我看到一些看戏的人直接坐在这些柱子后面。 我不知道他们怎么可能看到这个节目。 我也不知道剧院怎么能建一个有柱子挡住视线的阳台。

Enough bathrooms

One gripe I have about NY theaters is the scarcity of bathrooms. There are still impossible lines but enough women’s stalls in the basement. The play and processing of ticket holder line were good, too.

A basic theater, but watch out for partial-view seats

We saw Leopoldstadt at the Longacre theater.

We sat in the balcony on the far right, 2 seats from the aisle.
Although the near side of the stage was not visible to us, it was not an issue, since all of the performers stayed essentially in the center.

There was a bathroom up one additional flight from the balcony and it was not crowded.

The only real concern (although it did not affect us) is that there are 4 floor-to-ceiling columns in the middle of the balcony, on the right and left center aisles, between rows B and C.

I saw some theater-goers sitting directly behind these columns.
I don't know how they could possible see the show.

I also don't know how a theater could build a balcony with columns blocking the view.

Avoid front row of balcony.

Show was fabulous (Leopoldstadt), acoustics good. BUT seats are low and sagging, and in the first row of balcony, zero leg room, and view obliterated by safety railing. Would have been more comfortable standing up.

Ambient noise distracts from performance on Monday night

Attended a Monday evening 8pm performance of Leopoldstadt (may have been a preview, an interesting show, well done). Mezzanine seats, fifth row center aisle seats, just fine, perhaps a bit of line of sight issues from time to time, nothing serious. It's a fine theater, comfortable enough, the staff was friendly, all went well.

However, throughout the performance the thumping noise from an open-air Times Square concert of some kind echoed distractingly through the theater; we stayed at a hotel ten blocks away over a long weekend, couldn't believe the City has no noise abatement policy or exercises no control over the volume at which individuals and performers broadcast their music, religious and other messages. No substantive objection to any of it, it's the unbelievable volume it permits - perhaps, hopefully, only on Mondays?

We saw Macbeth. Seats were not the most comfortable but view was good. First time we have seen Macbeth commit suicide though. Craig’s blood bag hadn’t burst so we all watched in disbelief as he fished it from between his legs and burst it, with some difficulty, himself.
Never enough female toilets in theatres…

I saw Macbeth in May and I originally purchased seats in row C when the show was supposed to be held at a different theater. After being notified the theater had changed to the Longacre theater, my 5 tickets were moved to row A of the balcony.

Unfortunately, row A restricted a large portion of my view, as well as the view of the other ticket-holders, due to a safety bar. I had to lean forward over the bar the entire show to see the stage (I am 5 foot 7). I am very dissatisfied with this experience, especially because I had no control over my seat selection. The seats are also very narrow and my knees could not move- although this is the case with many old theaters. The show itself was underwhelming and at times hard to hear.

This was my first time at the Longacre Theatre and my last. I'm regular at all kinds of shows that NYC offers but I've never had such a terrible experience. I was very excited to see Macbeth but couldn't enjoy the show due to a very unprofessional stuff. The show was on Saturday May, 28, 2022 at 8PM. I was seated at the left side of the balcony. Shorty before the show began, a person who worked there, older woman, short gray hair, glasses, started screaming at me to put my mask more up on my nose. I was shocked by the way she talked to me. Instead of coming and asking politely, she screamed that other people were turning back to see what was happening. I told her my mask was on my nose which was confirmed by a friend of mine who was there with me. She then threatened to call security. The person seating above me who I didn't know made a comment that this woman was being ridiculous and that I had a mask up on my nose. The whole time I was trying to adjust my mask. The show then began. Shortly after she pointed a flesh light at me. I'm very disappointed and won't be returning to the theater

Mid-millennial Scotland pretty much absent in this production featuring street clothes, actors parked at the back of the stage, terrible accents, multiple roles, and overly vigorous nodding to gender fluidity. With all of those distractions, and suspension of disbelief bursting at the seams, I was left sitting in an uncomfortable theater seat Watching. People. Act: For an exorbitant amount of money, which left me feeling ripped off. There have been successful Shakespearean adaptations with different amounts/styles of modernization that have been intriguing/well-done to different degrees, but this isn’t one of them. I’ve seen Craig do well on stage before, but this performance feels like simple oration. Negga does better, but having her change her shirt on stage feels like the same usery & disrespect that female human beings continue to suffer despite the trend of woke blather.

Old Times Square Theater House

The Longacre Theater is over a 100 years old.
It seats about 1,000 patrons which is a smaller capacity than newer theaters. It is located just off Times Square on 48th Street.
Sight lines are good; however, there are restricted views in the far right/left seats. Legroom is decent. I saw Macbeth here. lovely play filled with drama, language, and tragedy. Please note that bathrooms are always packed in Broadway theaters. Try to go ahead of time.

Nice, small theatre.

The place is intimate. So all seats are good. Only complaint about seating was that they were a bit narrow. The staff were friendly and not overbearing when asking people to don masks. We saw Macbeth with Daniel Craig. The show was meh. An attempt at modernization didn't quite get there.
