Lifetime experience! I usually kayak in Malibu, CA which pales in comparison to kayaking on the Hudson River. The equipment is in excellent shape and the instructors incredibly nice. They could double the price and it would still be a great deal.

Manhattan is an island, just not tropical. But don't let that part stop you from enjoying Stand Up Paddle-boarding. Manhattan Kayak have lessons and very reasonably priced rentals; they also have the area between pier 84 and The Intrepid to keep you safe and away from the boats on the river.
I enjoyed being on the water and seeing the city as a backdrop. It must be even better in the evening when the city lights are on.
Everyone was super helpful and friendly. They have changing rooms and lockers. It's a good set-up

A lot of strong experienced paddlers kayak and SUP there from all over the world to paddle the perimeter of Manhattan or to get close to the Statue of Liberty or paddle along the NY and NJ coastline on the Hudson River to get both views at the same time. This place also provides rescue classes, self rescue and assisted rescues simulating what could be the closest to a real life scenario, although natural waters have their own character that changes all the time and it is not possible to simulate each and every scenario that exists. I've been on 4 foot waves on the Hudson River and depending on where you are, you get a lot of cross waves too. The guides and the group you paddle with are the most equipped with rescue skills compared to other places in NYC.
After talking to other paddlers from different parts of the world, we all agreed that people paddling out of this boathouse are all nice, are fun to hang out with, watch out for each other and this boathouse is the most responsible place that we know of when it comes to safety. Of all the boathouses that we know of in the 5 boroughs, this place is the only place that is properly insured too.

We had a blast on our trip with Manhattan Kayak company! Sightseeing the skyline while paddling the waves of the Hudson was a great adventure. And Jay was a fantastic kayak instructor and tour guide. Would recommend the beginner’s tour both to folks who have been kayaking before and those on their first trip. We would definitely love to visit again!

Manhattan Kayak is the best! I started kayaking there last summer and continued this year (just added standup paddle boarding). Always a great experience! Facilities are awesome and the staff is terrific, friendly and super-helpful!

It’s amazing to view the skyline and at the same time experience the expanse of water and sky that seems to be yours alone right in Manhattan. MKC is a great place to do it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The guides are very knowledgeable and extremely safety conscious. It’s a wonderful community of paddlers of all ages and abilities for those of us who live here and welcoming to visitors.

Professional, clean outfit with practical lockers and bathrooms. The novice trip was definitely too basic for us as we have kayaked before so we found the price for a short paddle up the Hudson River - really only about 10 blocks- on the skyline tour was quite high for what we got. Unfortunately, you cannot book more advanced or longer tours without taking lessons or having some sort of certification. A good trip for an absolute beginner though.

MKC is a Great place to learn how to SUP and kayak. The staff is as knowledgeable as they are passionate and truly friendly. This is my 2 nd season at MKC and I look forward to more great trips! The instructors are well versed, always fun and manage to challenge everyone just right to keep them motivated and improving. Great homey find in NYC! No frills place which focuses on the individual, the sport and group adventure.

I'm not sure how that works. There are people who store their Kayaks there for a yearly fee. If you want to join a tour with your own equipment you should probably give them a call. They're very flexible.
