Have used them a dozen times, mostly to go from Manhattan to a cemetery in Queens and return. Always punctual, reliable, clean up-to-date comfortable vehicle, professional friendly driver...never varies. The price seems fair to me - the key issue for me is reliability.

DO NOT USE CARMEL CAR & LIMO SERVICE!!! I made the grave mistake of thinking that a company with a slew of 1-star reviews couldn't be that bad. I was wrong. I would rate this service 0 stars if I could.
I specifically called ahead to confirm that the limo would have two things that were really important to me: champagne glasses and an aux cord. These actually mattered to me quite a lot (I had just proposed to my girlfriend, and this was part of the follow-up plan), and I was assured by the representative that the car had both. This assurance was the ONLY reason I chose Carmel over other options.
It ended up that the car had neither. I was really upset by this, and I ended up deciding to request a partial refund (30%). Again, I only chose Carmel in the first place because of the false information I was given.
When I requested a partial refund due to the blatant false advertising, their customer service was an absolute nightmare. The representative was not only unhelpful but outright rude. I was told that my complaint would be reviewed and I'd hear back in a week. A week and a half later, I had received nothing. I called again, and the representative apologized for the delay but promised I'd hear back within days. Two weeks later, still nothing.
On my third call, the representative was once again extremely rude and dismissive, even hanging up on me when I pressed the issue. When I finally managed to speak to someone who could address my concerns, she was just as rude and unaccommodating. The best they offered was a pathetic $15 refund on a $300+ trip, and she outright refused to escalate the issue to a manager.
Save yourself -- this company is dishonest, poor quality, and rude.

They did not show! Waited and waited. Finally went to the taxi line, which I would have done in the first place. Aargh. Late with teens. Sucks.

I booked a limo from JFK to home in Manhattan. The driver didn't speak a word of English. The only way to communicate was speaking English into his phone which then translated it into Chinese. Had to go through the procedure all the way home. In an emergency I shutter to think what would have happened. I tried to complain to Carmel and they told me that they are legally able to employ non English speaking drivers and there was nothing they could do about it.

Ride requested clearly stated to Ocean casino, driver stated he was only getting paid to take us to King of Prussia? Driver refused to take us and returned to airport

The trip was reserved to ocean Casino in King of Prussia, which doesn't exist and have a different fare & we don't offer trips to Atlantic city through Viator.

Our flight was delayed for 1 hour and they registered a no show. We did not receive any follow up therefore we were never able to communicate with the company or our driver. When we knew about the delay there was no phone or email to inform it.

Carmel car service the worst and I will never use them again. Ordered a car from Long Island to jfk airport over a month in advance. Then confirmed 2 days before. Waited with my bags at the scheduled time and no show. When I called they said sorry there was a mixup and I had no ride to the airport at the last minute. I asked for them to order a cab or alternative and they said sorry customer service would call on Monday. What????

Very bad experience. Watch out for this company. I booked a limousine so that my daughter had a surprise 18th birthday and 3 hours earlier they sent me a message canceling the Reservation due to unavailability. Surely they E another more palatable Reservation and left me hanging. DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY

Had booked Carmel for morning private airport transfer from Newark international to downtown, was a bit apprehensive with the mixed reviews but was pleasantly surprised with the promptness of the dispatcher and the driver arrived in 5-8 mins , had prepaid the fare in site and everything went very smooth and the driver was very helpful with the luggage too , the fare charged was and inclusive of gratuity which is fair given the service quality.. will definitely rebook..

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - UNSAFE!
On the way home from JFK, my driver took a detour to do a personal errand. Despite my clear objections, he drove us through Queens to a remote area where he proceeded to deliver an envelope to a garage. The detour without traffic would have added an additional 30 minutes, but as we hit traffic, it ADDED AN ADDITIONAL HOUR - the route we should have taken would have taken 50 minutes. It took 2 hours to get to my destination!
During the trip, I was communicating with a family member via text. This person contacted Carmel and explained what was happening in real-time. The customer service representative said they would file a complaint but that I would be responsible for paying the driver. I have since tried to reach customer service several times, but they have been unresponsive.
As a woman alone in a car with a male driver traveling in unfamiliar areas and on highways, I felt I had no alternatives but to stay in the car and hope that I would arrive home safely.

You guys are two guys. They make a commitment, we pay dearly for it, they leave us waiting and they do not give us our money back.

Dear Paulo, I have only had extremely positive experiences with Carmel, have taken the service for decades. Call their office for a refund. They have always been helpful to me. Always early, always professional, always very nice. Sorry for Your experience.

Hi, Linda Lee. What would you like to know about this attraction? Hello... I'm looking for a car service for Transportation from a Manhattan 46th street hotel to a Newark hotel near the airport and was debating between Carmel vs Uber. Your post stated that Carmel was higher than Uber. Was the rate MUCH higher than Uber or just a few dollars?

I found Carmel to be more expensive because they add the tolls and a tip after your quoted price. Uber prices vary significantly but I found them cheaper for the same route when I used them.

bonjour , j'ai réservé à travers tripadvisor un trajet, imprimé mon voucher, payé en carte bleue mais ils me demandent de donner au moins 12 h avant des renseignements supplémentaires via un lien. Il est noté qu'il est important de le faire. Hors ce lien me redirige vers une réservation et me demande de nouveau mes coordonnées bancaires. Une fois le voucher imprimé et payé faut-il vraiment reconfirmer ? Ou je peux partir tranquille ? Merci

j'ai tout de même appelé le numéro indiqué sur le voucher avant mon départ, je suis tombée sur une américaine qui m'a fait la confirmation de ma location par tel. (elle ne m'a rien demandé de plus, enfin je crois, elle parle très vite). J'appelerai dès que j'aurai mes bagages au second numéro. En espérant que tout soit ok.......

Le auto all’andata (una Toyota Avalon) e al ritorno (un minivan) erano spaziose quindi non dovreste aver problemi. Noi eravamo tre adulti con due valigie grandi e un trolley.

Did you get a refund, as we cancelled our trip 4 days advance and am still waiting for my refund ..... they put phone down, put you through to answering machine, keep saying they can't hear you ... but hear you fine until to you ask where the refund is. Load of con merchants.

I am very sorry to say that we can relate to your experience. We found it impossible to be able to get our questions answered and to have calls returned (we were continually promised that someone would get back to us). In the end we had no refund at all.
I have never written a negative review on Trip Advisor so I hope that you can appreciate that in writing a negative review about Carmel it is because it was reeeeeeeeeeeelllly unacceptable. They are rude, unreliable and unresponsive.
I am sorry for your experience, but sadly and not shocked. I hope that you end up getting your money refunded and have a different experience than we did.
