So glad that piece of non-maintained junk finally closed. The only upside was I was able to experience 3 years of Hamvention that looked exactly the same as the 1950's. It was like stepping into a time warp. When was the last time a bathroom wasn't leaking or overflowing? And the pavement was so broken and uneven that I always went home with aching joints - and I'm one of the young ones in the crowd. I hope I didn't inhale too many mold spores from the main arena. Adios Hara!

This place is so run down it's sad. It used to be the only venue in Dayton to see shows, etc. Now with the Nutter Center, etc why would anyone go here? Only things going on there now are rap shows, HAM convention and some smaller things. they really need to update this place, it's gross

This was my first Hamvention, and I came with low expectations for the arena, having heard negative reports. But I thought it was fine! Not new and spiffy, but awesomely big. We had no problems with bathrooms, etc. as apparently has happened in the past. I am looking forward to coming back.

I went for the Hamvention. Hamvention itself is great. It's so exciting that you might miss the building condition. It is way past it's lifetime. Pretty confusing to find your way around. Bathrooms are pretty scary. The food provided by outside vendors at the swap meet is far superior.

A terrible venue to hold a convention, affair or anything! Old, not well maintained, dirty, smelly, disgusting, parking lot full of pot holes, I could go on but you get the picture.
Bathrooms disgusting with holes in the wall. Musty and mildewed ceiling tiles.
There is no good reason to visit, rent or go in!

Never find another venue as good as hara. First there in 1968 and now 11 times a visitor in 2016 and love it. It's all about ham radio. W2hp

We had a practice here for an Indoor percussion group. Glad to have a spot that was out of the rain and sun, but it seemed to be in poor repair and had not been cleaned in a while. Wouldn't do anything fancy here.

How is this place not condemned? This was not my first visit to Hara Arena and every time I visit I'm amazed they find ways to keep the doors open. The parking lot is in disrepair, tile flooring missing, large sections of drop ceiling in the arena area are missing, falling down and covered in mold just sad. Hara Arena was the place to see the biggest names in music in the 80s abs early 90s, now it's just a disgrace. I was thankful my wife won tickets to take our 4 year old to his first monster truck event otherwise I would be asking for a refund!

The monster truck show was a blast. My family all loved it. There are 3yo-45yo. There were 12 of us. Seating is first come first serve for the monster jam unless you spring extra for the v.i.p tickets. The seats are quite small so be prepared to squeeze in and out in you are tall and weigh over 130lbs.... the concessions shut down earlier (45 mins before the end) then any other place so the kids had to wait till we got out of there to eat. They had security every where and the restrooms were suprisingly clean. One security guard in a wheel chair was yelling at people for standing in line to ride the coyote hunter (monster truck.) The kids had a wonderful time and we will go again.

I wanted to write this positive review after reading the existing ones. My son and I visited Hara yesterday. Parking was plentiful. The interior was clean and well lighted. We walked the entire show (75,000. Sq feet). Got a pretzel and soft drink which was good.
