This is a nice place to spend an hour or two.
There's a central car park with nice restrooms as well as a board with a map showing the trails you can take a photo of.
The trails are not long (around a mile) and are mostly well marked.
We didn't see loads of wildlife when we were there but might have just been a bad time.
Although we did see one gopher tortoise!
Would definitely visit again when I'm the area and looking to kill a few hours.

This wonderful park has centralized bathrooms and a pavilion right next to them with a playground for kids. A campground at a fair rate, and many wonderful trails. I would always pack water if I were you, as some trails can be quite long. If you enjoy fishing the water is brackish and you can catch and find all kinds of things. Swim in the river, go off trail and explore if you have know how. There is more to this park then meets the eyes, hidden paths, beaches, and rope swings. This park truly has it all just don't be afraid to go off the beaten path.

We spent several hours hiking on the well marked trails. We saw plenty of bird life. The preserve is not huge so you can see most everything in a few hours.

If you want to have a nice walk on a sunny day, come here. There's lots of shade, clean bathrooms, a picnic area, and even a spot where some people swim in the stream. It's a fairly rustic trail, so bring shoes, not flip-flops.

Looking for some exercise, we stopped here to check out their trails. We walked all of them including to the remains of the settlement which just contains a graveyard. A few area were wet when we were there so wear appropriate footwear. The nature center wasn’t open but the restrooms were and were modern and clean. It’s worth a visit.

This park has a small playground area and several walking trails. There is also camping available. My kids like playing on the playground and I like walking the trails.

Nice kept by the Manatee Parks and Recreation folks. Peaceful and relaxing for a stroll, jog, biking, or kayaking.

Yellow trail is more primitive than the Red trail. The Yellow had more flowers, but both had GREAT river views. Centrally located restrooms, many picnic tables and a play area for the kids!!
The trail to the settlement was a bit to primitive for me (hiking by myself) so I didn't make it to the settlement. :-(

Pack some water. Large areas with trails hike. Stream to fish. Play area for kids. Also, a walking stick would be good, many snakes around

Just a waste of time and gas. A few small picnic areas and that is it. It could use a cleaning . . it was just not an appealing ride. You can't candy coat and spin this place as Old Florida charm.
