Stop on your way to other places

Worth stopping here to say you did- but it won't take more than five minutes to walk down the street. A guide would likely have stories and other information to make this stop more memorable.

The oldest continuously inhabited residential street in the US. The narrow streets bring you back to the colonial times. Just remember that most of these properties are private home!

Questo punto non bisogna farselo sfuggire xke ne vale veramente la pena vederlo . Già solo passeggiando , arrivati in questo punto si nota da lontano come sia del tutto diverso e caratteristico rispetto a tutto il resto . somiglia ad una via inglese del 1800 raccontata dalle sorelle Brönte. È una graziosa stradina ciottolata che vanta la fama di essere niente di meno che la più antica strada americana. Molto bella

Segway through this area!

We rode our Segways from the Waterfront Cafe area to Elfreth's Alley. What fun! Our guide was energetic and knowledgeable about the various periods of dwellings and their history. Worth the $55 for the tour.

Inizialmente pensavo che fosse una trappola per turisti, sicuramente in parte lo è, ma è una stradina da percorrere (gratuita) su cui affacciano le case conservate come ai tempi della guerra di indipendenza. This is the place in Philadelphia we find most tourists. Elfreth's Alley offers a glimpse into colonial America, albeit with a heavily touristy touch. Good for a couple photos but not exactly the destination for real history.
