It was an incredible experience. I really felt emotional at that place (I wasn’t at memorial) . The symbols and meanings really touch us. It is a mix of feelings, sadness for that day 911 and also grateful for those who worked hard in all operation. It is a small park, do not expect a huge monuments, but the ones that are there meaning a lot. The view is incredible, with the eagle pointing to the memorial, the little girl representing the children that lost their parents, the dog who worked on the twins towers, the police cap and firefighters helmet the truly heroes .

The reserve was at its utmost beauty with fall foliage in November. The view of the Manhattan sky line is spectacular. The memorial is extremely sad for those that remember the horrific day that moved and changed the world. The gardens are beautiful and the atmosphere is tranquil snd solemn. Theres plenty of parking and a restaurant there.

The viewpoint at the southeastern corner of Eagle Rock Reservation provides an unparalleled vista of Manhattan island. With such a panorama it seems a fitting location for the 9-11 Memorial which includes a steel beam from one of the towers and the engraved names of all who perished.

Nice place for a short duration visit. One can take a drive through, stop and admire the scenic view of New York City and drive on. Nice memorial..The place is also good for hiking and picnic.

This is a great place to take a drive through, stop and admire the view and drive on. It's also a great place to bring a picnic basket and have a tail-gate dinner!

Hello, I haven't visited Eagle Rock Reservation in quite a while and am attending a memorial this weekend at the 911 Memorial. Maps of Eagle Rock are not helping with the location. Which entrance should I use and are there signs to clearly show the way?
Also, what's the difference between Eagle Rock an South Mountain Reservation?
