The Heritage Museum does a great job of explaining the history of Clatsop County. It is located in a former city hall building and has 2 stories of excellent information regarding the history of this corner of Oregon. The highlight for me was the exhibit about the 1922 Astoria fire. There some good exhibits regarding the history and industries of Astoria. Film making, tuna, and cranberries just to name a few. Another cool exhibit is a Chinese altar. It is only $5 to get in. There was a very nice lady greeting everyone and explained the museum great. Street parking only, but there are no time limits around the museum. The Heritage Museum is a must stop if you enjoy history.

The museum is quiet and in an older creeky building- perfect for the museum. It has all the history the good and bad. There is a small display on the kkk, so be aware. It is a good museum to see all the pictures and pieces of history.

local smaller museum with an interesting perspective on Astorian history. Lots of interesting artifacts. Entrance fee is worth it to support maintaining local history. Good to see they gave a nod to native Indians and immigrants.

Two-stories of interesting items from the past. You learn about the people who lived and settled the area. They also talk about the indigenous peoples who where here before the white settlers. There are exhibits that talk about the logging and fishing industries.

Thia City Hall was built in 1923. It is now the current for Astoria.City Hall.
In the past, there was here also gambling and drinking alcohol.
I had some problems with my camera.
A few days later, I took pictures from the outside.
Worthwhile to see!

Old city hall remade into museum. Very clean and organized. Interactive exhibits for younger kids too. Didnt spend a lot of time here, maybe an hour. Helpful staff!

If you're short on time but really want to get a feel for the town of Astoria, you should spend 1-2 hours at this small but informative museum. Two-story with several small rooms focused on the history of the town.

We stopped at the Heritage Museum and were pleased with the amount of history and information of the area packed into this museum. The building architecture is grand, as well as the saloon on the upper level. There is a large room of medical equipment, articles, and information. Worth seeing!

Well worth your time and the modest admission fee. I always enjoy museums like this one that include presentations of the experiences of its everyday citizens of the past.
