Good place if you want a quick bite or are with a group whose food tastes vary. A number of food court providers. Very few crafts. Nice looking fish monger.

Classic Baltimore. The new space has energy and such a Baltimore feel. It will get even better as all the stalls open. For now, Faidley's is still next door, but the new space is very nice.

Still leaves something to be desired! The place where I used to buy my poultry, smoked meats and pork isn’t there. The few stalls that they have look skimpy of items. The prices are higher. No place to buy your greens and other vegetables. When is the fresh fish coming? I was there today and all I can say is, “I miss the old Lexington market vendors!? You won’t find any Mary Mervis sandwiches or hot peanuts 🥜! 😥

Get the crackheads , junkies, homeless, dope dealers, dope users, panhandlers away . Lexington market would be a great place to shop and eat and hangout . People would be safer without being harassed. Makes downtown baltimore look bad . And the surrounding areas . I give it till spring of 2023 . Before it gets back to what it used to look like .

Went to their Baltimore Lexington Market location. I hadn’t been in awhile since the pandemic started and ordered two each lump and back fin cakes.
Got home ready to dig in and I was sorely disappointed. It looked like the old crab cakes I was familiar with, but they were awful. The cakes had some kind of seasoned bread filling and were overly salty. Tasted nothing like the old “all” no/ lightly seasoned crab cakes, I was use to.
Unfortunately for me, I paid about $70 for crab cakes that were inedible. Sadly I’m going to have to find another place for signature Maryland crab cakes.
I haven’t tried their other locations, but for the cost I recommend finding another place with authentic Maryland crab cake taste.

I grew up in Baltimore. I remember coming here in the 80s with my grandfather. It is not the same. Most of the stalls are empty or the business are not longer operating. The few that are operating are not in the best of shape. If you want pig's feet or beef tongue, maybe come here. What we saw for sale was overpriced and not the best quality or in the best shape. Kind of like going to a farmer's market where the vendor shop at the local grocery store and then mark up their product because they are at the farmer's market.
On the walk there from the hotel, I felt like I was the only person not strapped and we got a lot of looks of "Dude, you are in the wrong neighborhood" (not the first time and it won't be the last). Go if you remember it from way back when but otherwise skip. I will say I have had Faidley's food at a charity event 15+ years ago. It was good but it is not worth the risks associated of going here. I will say that I did not have any concerns inside the building. My concerns and Spidey sense was concerned with the area surrounding Lexington Market.
I have seen other reviewers say they do not understand why people are scared to come here. My guess is they are either oblivious of their personal safety or they voluntarily ignore their surroundings and the warning signs around them. Just because something didn't happen to you doesn't mean that someone wasn't planning or eyeing you up to do something mean.

I came to Lexington Market mainly to eat at Faidley's. Sure, it isn't in the most polished neighborhood, but it's an authentic, urban market, and I felt completely safe. Unfortunately, it seemed like many of the vendors were closed, but it looked like there is normally a decent selection of food. It's an easy walk from the Lexington Light RailLink Station.

What a fantastic, diverse, noisy, thriving market. I love the variety. Can’t wait to go back and try some more of the delicious foods we saw.
(I’ve read reviewers saying they were “frightened” by the locals out on the street. That was definitely not our experience. We found everyone we encountered to be friendly and helpful, even when I had to venture away from the market.)

We are a white couple in our 60s and found this historic market to be delightful. Yes, it has the character of its centuries of existence, and as a native New Yorker I'm glad of it. If you want to feel "safe" and spotless, Karen, have your driver drop you and the soccer team off at Applebees at the Shoppes. Lexington is a vibrant inner-city landmark; relax and enjoy.
For the record, we felt completely safe here. Everyone we encountered today in downtown Baltimore, including on a walk partway here (we pooped out and Ubered the rest of the way), either ignored us - you know, like your ordinary people mostly do - or was friendly and polite.
Here's a tip: The Golden Rule works Get over yourself. And try a treat from Market Bakery.

There's one called Faidley's at the back of the Lexington Market. It's the best crabcake ever, but I don't know about crab legs. Why not' search them on goggle or e-mail them and ask. Hope this helps.

This attraction describes itself as a flea market, antiques, food, etc. but the only thing I get from their website or the reviews is that it is just a big food Hall in a sketch part of town. Anyone have a different experience?

There are some lame vendors...as far as "sketch part of town"...depends on who you are. Myself, I felt comfortable. Yes, use common sense, you are in a city known for it's crime, but don't short change yourself from the delicious food vendors and incredible fresh seafood. If your up for an authentic Baltimore experience and have no problems being in neighborhoods that aren't predominantly white then go for it. I'm a white female from a small town and it didn't intimidate me.In fact, it was awesome!

In my opinion it is totally not worth seeing at all.... so many other places to go eat in downtown Baltimore. The internet really hypes this place up as a great place to eat, and there may very well be some good food there.... but we didn't stick around long enough to even give it a shot. The market itself is dirty and looks like it badly needs a renovation or some kind of cosmetic upgrade to it. Many of the stalls that we saw were empty or closed up. Additionally, the part of town was literally referred to as "the ghetto" by our hotel desk clerk and it sure wasn't a very inviting atmosphere. The myriad of people roaming the streets just didn't have the "welcome to our neighborhood" vibe, and boy was the language tough to hear as you walked down the street or happened to stop at a corner to wait to cross the street. As I indicated in my review - the choice F-word was used about every 3rd word; and it was loud and crude. I can't really even think of a good reason to even go over there at all. Read several of the reviews that have been written about it and you'll see that many others agree with this assessment.
