This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to climb inside the tight space of a WWII era submarine. This attraction provides a detailed look into life aboard a sub.

Take the time to read the information provided with each exhibit. It provides a wealth of additional information about daily life on the Torsk. For instance, they had a machining area on the ship. As parts wore out or were damaged there is no place out at sea to get new parts. They had to make their own replacement parts in the machining area.

One note of warning, if you are claustrophobic this might not be the tour for you. Also, if you are taller than six foot you will have some difficulty maneuvering through the Torsk. The doorway openings from room to room are quite small.

We bought tickets to see the historic ships in Baltimore on a very hot August day. Its important when you buy the tickets to know which ships will be open on the day you visit - as when we were there only two of the ships were open and available for tours. We visited and walked through the Torsk - which is my favorite of the ones we've seen in Baltimore. Its a unique experience to get to walk through a submarine and see just how tight and cramped the living space is for sailors who spend months on these boats. There are helpful explanatory signs through the submarine, which you get to walk inside from end-to-end. I would note that this tour is not for the mobility challenged and will be difficult for folks who are large in size. Its a tight fit at every turn and requires some contortions to get through the hatches inside the boat without banging a joint. Seeing all that though just adds to the experience and the respect you have for those who serve. Also - as this is a one-way walk down tight corridors, the speed you can get through the boat is going to be set by the people in front of you, so it can be a bit slow-going.

This is a great tour, simply to be in awe of 1940 analogue technology. It's like every inch has wire, pipe, gauge. No panic attacks allowed in this thing, there would be nowhere to go. Unbelievable what soldiers endure for us.

Took my wife and 3 young kids to see this submarine. Didn't expect much but immediately upon descending into the submarine, we were all quite amazed. Very well maintained showing how sailors lived, worked, fought, slept, ate and kept clean inside a submarine during WWII. It's a fairly large submarine with some neat inside exhibits, including the Captain's Table set with silverware from those times.

The tickets purchase includes a visit to the nearby USS Constellation, a clipper style war sail ship from the war of 1862, I believe. Every day at noon, they shoot off cannons. Exploring this ship was equally interesting for all of us. Again, very well maintained with interesting exhibits including where surgery is performed on sailors, including a saw used to conduct amputations! The ship has 4 levels down to explore. Having three kids aged 5, 7 and 9, the questions were unending and exhausting! :-)

Seeing how people lived and survived in those hard days, really makes one appreciate life today.

The submarine is right next to the aquarium. The ship is about a 5-10 minute walk to the next pier and can be easily seen from the aquarium.

The Torsk is a living chapter out of history ·-- not distant history, but our American history of living memory. See and feel just how the submariners lived and fought; school groups can arrange for overnights to see what it was like to sleep in a narrow bunk in windowless space... and to think about the dedication of the warriors who did so at the risk of their lives.

If you are on the Inner Harbor, the Torsk is well worth the time. No worries and no claustrophobia. It is a very educational tour.

Very old style sub. If you've never been in one this is pretty interesting. Lots of dials & gauges & all the sleeping quarters, controls & so forth.

Fascinating insight to life under the water. Movies and pictures cannoe equal the actual experience of stepping back in time aboard a sub like this. Amazing experience.

ボルチモアの主要観光場所のインナーハーバーにある4艦のうちの1艦です。
潜水艦内部にも入れますので、必見です。
