We stopped by to see this park and the canal. The web site says the park is open from morning until dusk; city web page. When we arrived the park was indeed open but the building and facilities were closed.
There is paved parking on both sides of the road and a small area to walk along the canal.
There are a few benches and even a couple swinging benches.
There are mooring spaces for canal traffic.
It was a pleasant day but not much to see here.
Parking was free.

Someday this place will be popular. Come while it's new and not crowded. Tie up your boat here, it's right on the canal. .

Beautiful spot in the fall. Very relaxing to just sit and watch nature. Need more garbage cans, picnic tables, and some BBQ pit or stoves. I go there often on my walk.

I think the grounds could use a bit more care as far as cleaning up debris that people tend to leave. It is a shame that they toss their rubbish on the ground as I do believe there are waste containers available.

A cute little park, that could be much nicer, but there was lots of trash around. Not someplace I plan to return to, but not bad.

It is a good park. If you want to fish, bike or enjoy walking. But that is about it. Except if you are coming down the canal and you need a place to stop for a bit. My biggest complaint about this is the lack of picnic tables and garbage containers. There are a few barrels for garbage, but they are in inconvenient places. Which may explain the trash that grows along the banks. It was an embarrassment when my friends out of town came for a visit and wanted to see the park. We ended up staying in the car.

This is a great place to lay out on the grass and relax. You can hear the water going over the small man made falls. In the summer you can watch the boats pass along the canal. You can also fish here and there is a kayak launch. A lot of events are held here, such as canal fest, paws along the Mohawk and Locktoberfest.

Been to canalfest. It's not really that special. Parking is difficult and inconvenient. Not worth the cost of entry.
The park is ok. Went there once in the past when a friend came through with his boat. We enjoyed that. But I wouldn't go unless I had a friend stopping with a boat on the canal

I was driving through upstate New York and spotted this quiet little spot along the Erie Canal to stop and have lunch. As it turns out, this is just the place where they just added a few miles of hiking, biking walking trail. We walked the trail which was beautiful and included a walking bridge over the waterfalls. As we were walking we walked right through a live pres conference where they were celebrating the opening of this new trail. There were a few sailboats moored along the canal wall, a kayak gracefully gliding across the water, some fishermen in a pontoon boat and a very cute little pier with a launching apparatus for kayaks. I never saw anything like it. Pretty cool indeed! We walked for a half an hour and continued on our trip.
