Located in a place called Puliancunnoo. About 25 kms away from Alleppey town. The road that leads to the church is calming. The church has a peaceful atmosphere with the backwaters close by.

We stopped here during our two day boathouse trip in Kerala. This is one of the oldest churches around and looked very beautiful inside and out. The paintings inside the building and on the roof were spectacular. We spent a quiet 20minutes admiring everything. 🙏

Awesome in the true sense of the word. Kneeling and praying there I just didn't want to leave such was the peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. There are relics of 3 saints there too. A very steep climb up lots of steps so difficult to visit if not pretty mobile.

On ne vient pas ici par hasard ! cette église est un point d’arrêt des bateaux houseboats qui sillonnent les bac waters.
Nous avons assistés à la messe dominicale ; l'église était bondée et les fidèles priaient même dehors par manque de place!

Percorrendo i canali di questa parte del Kerala, non si può omettere una visita a questa chiesa dall'interno pittoresco. Da qualche hanno la chiesa è assurta al ruolo di basilica cosa che, pur non sapendo cosa significhi, suppongo rappresenti una collocazione più elevata rispetto a quella di semplice chiesa. Anche nei pressi di questa basilica, come capita di osservare nella quasi totalità delle chiese cristiane delle varie confessioni (cattoliche, battiste, anglicane, ecc. ecc.), è presente un edificio scolastico retto dai ministri del culto

We visited soon after the terrible floods of 2018. The church ha d been cleaned up and it was difficult to tell the disaster that had recently befallen it. The decorations were really interesting to see. If you get the opportunity try and visit the attached Primary School to understand the support the local people give their church.

This wonderful church has to be visited if you stay in the backwaters at the Green Palace Hotel. To be in such good condition it had to be renovated and though is a jewel.

Built in 427 AD....but seems to be renovated from time to time. Doesn't look old at all. Nice place to visit. Also explore shops near by
