Lions point is almost 12 kilometres away from Lonavala railway station, next to the tiger point. It is a great place with fantastic weather during monsoon. First time I seen in my entire life a place with valley, hills, rain and fog at the same time. Ko

The view varies depending on the season. We were there in the dry season and so everything is dry and burnt and is even more reminiscent of the great American sites. Similar to Canyonlands in the United States.
The thing: Lion's point is paying but 500m further Tiger point is free and less view for a view exactly the same
Incredible view, yet there was a bit of mist.
The sunset must be extraordinary but we were there around 9:30 a.m. after staying at The Machan.
Too bad the site in both places is full of filth left behind by visitors.

This is one of the most famous view point of Lonavala hill station which is located @ 10 km away from City and besides which one can see tigers point also. both are very nearby to each other. This spot is mid-way between Bhushi Dam and Aamby Valley.
View from Lions point is very good panoramic and majestic. specially very nice during monsoon with multiple small small water falls surrounding this place. Sun Rise and Sun set also good to view from this point, From this view point we can view Tungarli Lake and Dam. This is the highest point of Lonavala hill station.
There is proposal of connecting Lions point and Tiger point through Glass Sky walk. its very initial stage as of now and take time to get it approve.

Another chaotic situation like Matheran, fully controlled by locals with no interest in common good, cleanliness and only short term money making. The food prices are high. Enquire before you buy. Tourists can happily pay these price if the place is kept well. All it needs is a little co-ordination between the locals and some push from the officials. Most places in Lonavala sadly is strewn with plastic waster and alcohol bottles. Family tourists beware of the maggi sellers near Tiger Falls, sellers there are likely to be on alcohol all the time.

Go here in monsoon for a scenic view of the valley. Parking is available. Windy place with lots of small vendors around. If going in summers, don't keep expectations too high.

A must visit place for tourists. Can spend over an hour at the place. Perhaps the best spot to view the mountain peaks of Lonavala. The area is big with good parking space and lots of small eating joints with decent choice of bhajias, cold drinks, tea/coffee, ice cream, etc. Since the spots are well spread out it does not appear too crowded.

This has all the potential to draw many visitors if maintained well. Nonetheless, a beautiful spot to visit, particularly evenings.

It was really foggy and literally could not see anything. Good environment but not a wow experience. Also before having something to eat there ask for prices from vendors as they are looting everyone. Had to pay 300/- bucks for 2 maggis!

The view up there was awesome! You can also buy some drinks and food up there. Be awarded of the monkeys a bit. Take a good camera with you :)

Can I ride my car from Mumbai to Lonavla
It would be my first highway ride. I’m having a driving experience of 2-3 years. Or shall I go for a bus??
Nd will I be able to drive in to various places there ?

2-3 years experience is good enough to drive from Mumbai to Lonavala. Avoid driving at night since it is your first time!

Hi, I am not sure of that as a taxi was hired for us for the entire day, which is what you should do as well so that you can conveniently go see other points nearby as well.

Yes, you can take bus to reach Lion's Point, But I suggest don't take bus, book a cab for the trip, because Buses are not available frequently, Bus can drop you to Lion's Point but you will get bus to return is very less possible.

I guess shared auto's are available. I doubt if they have any concept of local taxi. Its too far to walk till the point. I would prefer private taxi or shared auto. If take your own vehicle or taxi then parking would cost you around Rs. 50.

You can rent a Taxi or Auto at Lonavala railway station, sharing auto would cost less when compared to complete booking. However, in approx 1200 you can book a full time taxi which will cover both Lonavala and Khandala in 5-6 hours.

All through the week the stalls are open only till 7PM. The crowd is decent on weekdays; and yes, it is safe, but it is better to plan your visit so that it is completed by 7PM.
