Take streetcar 48 from canal 40 minutes journey c is the terminal. This park is very beautiful spectacular trees of the small bridges of the islets fauna and flora beautiful diversity even in a fine rain we follow a small path we forget the noise of the city c is relaxing. Nice walk with some squirrels.

City Park was AMAZING! We first went to experience Celebration in the Oaks. It was absolutely beautiful! We went back to check out the Sculpture Garden and some more of the park. Everything was wonderful. It is such a huge and well maintained park with so much to do! The Cafe Du Monde had much shorter lines than the one in the French Quarter! We loved City Park!

This is a big beautiful park with a lot to do in it as well as an art museum and scultpure park. We only scratched the surface. It boasts gorgeous huge old live oak trees hung with Spanish moss and a world-class sculpture park with water running through it in very artistic ways. One highlight was the fairly large alligator we saw swimming through the sculpture park waterway. There are also quite a few charming bridges that cross streams, ponds in the main part of the park and are picturesque. There is also a Cafe Du Monde in the park so you can get beignets and coffee. We took the City Park Line of the streetcar out to the park but chose to uber back to our apartment as our feet were tired after all the walking. There is no fee to enter the park or sculpture garden.

First of all, this is a sprawling city park indeed. We only got to visit a small section, adjacent to the Art Museum and its free sculpture garden. From there, we visited the Big Lake. Then onto the oak tree grove (McDonogh Oak), crossing 3 bridges including the beautiful and charming Langles Bridge.
There is a Cafe du Monde, and nearby the Peristyle. We took the 91 transit bus here from our hotel located in the French Quarter. It took about 30 minutes. There is also the Canal Street streetcar that services this area, so it is pretty easy to reach.
Only wish we had more time to explore the park.

Had a great time strolling through City Park
—the scenery was beautiful, and the vibe was super chill. Only downside? It was nearly impossible to find a bathroom nearby, which was a bit frustrating. Still, it's a solid spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors.

So much to do. We spent half a day here and still did not see everything. Only negative is we wish there were more picnic tables to enjoy lunch, plenty of benches but more tables needed.

Experience the natural beauty of New Orleans at City Park, the 87th largest and 20th most visited urban public park in the United States. Spanning 1,300 acres, it's even larger than Central Park in New York City!

This is a lovely city park. There is a free scultpure museum to walk around, and a big lake. We rented a surrey and a swan boat which were pretty fun activities. It's a very large park, with pretty trees. We enjoyed the break from the streets of Nola.

A gigantic park with Louisiana flora and fauna. Do not miss the coffee stop of the world, in the garden sculpture and at the children's museum. A real oasis in the city

Yes, one can bicycle throughout most of the park.
Especially in the front section of the park, closest to City Park Ave, there is lots of shade too.

About 2 hours from the time you arrive ... In addition to the lights in the botanical garden area you may want to explore the stage areas for Karaoke, Local groups/choirs singing, a stop in their cafe (try the gumbo!) and Storyland (great for kids of all ages) the kid's amusement park which included the Flying Horses (Carousel) and the optional train ride under the stars, oaks and lights. Parking is limited, so plan a little extra time to get to and from your vehicle. Some tour companies offer bus transportation which drops you right at the main entrance.

I don’t know, but if it helps, the park is at the end of one of the streetcar lines that runs the length of canal street, so it is not hard to get to from the hotels located in the french quarter and downtown area.
