I have in the past and it was worth it. The cemetery is closed to visitors except for those on a tour.

I personally crush up a whole bunch of those Spree candy tablets, and make some of the most colorful dust. Then I grab a whole bunch of it in my hand, say a prayer, and blow it all over the object of my desire (or a replica of). Seems to get results in three days.

You can just drop by. It’s a tiny “museum”. If it’s busy, you just wait a few minutes for people to walk through and leave, so you can see the displays.

You need to stop by a shop and have them make your Gris-gris bag. Voodoo Authentica at 612 rue Dumaine is great.

I did not do the reading. I did not see anywhere in the museum to do one, either. It is very small. There are readings all around Jackson Square, though.

Posted admission is 7$ for adults and slightly less for kids but they often change it based on a whim I've found. we paid 8$ for two adults the day we went.

I don't know for sure, but I'd guess it's because at night in New Orleans, some neighborhoods can become a little 'rowdy' with a lot of intoxicated tourists, and if a lot of drunks go stampeding through the museum, they could damage some of the very old and culturally significant artifacts there. I know that while I was there, a group of drunk tourists came in right before closing time. They were allowed in, with some reservation. And, surely enough, one of them spilled her drink all over the floor in one of the rooms - fortunately NOT on anything other than floor planks.
