Took the Rum experience tour. Private, super fun and informative class. Got to make cocktails while listening to the history surrounding them. Learned so much while sipping on delicious drinks!

So far as museums go, this place is just ok. All the exhibits are new and shiny. There are lots of video components and interactive parts. Unfortunately, none of the information is really especially interesting and they end up repeating a lot of it on the tour. At the end, the final exhibit is actually a 3 minute movie that echos almost all its content from things that you would have read in other exhibits.
However, it is a free museum, and as a part of the free (self-guided) tour, you get to sample real alcoholic drinks (probably totaling to one standard drink altogether). So how can I stay disappointed.

Really fun and interesting tour right on canal street. Not just the history of the sazerac but rum and bourbon too. Great gift shop and very reasonably priced whiskies.
For a fun day out come here followed by a stop at the sazarac bar for an average drink but a slice of history. Then go to peychauds and end the day at either Lua or Jewel of the South

Had and enjoyable visit, there again I am a big fan of Bourbon! That being said, this would be a good visit for non drinkers, my wife and mother in law are not Whiskey fans, but enjoyed the history side of it, learning what was behind the famous cocktail. Personally, I enjoyed the presentation and the characters that served the cocktail tasters, but for me I like my Bourbon as it is, and those bitters that spoil the taste should be keep away. Bit that’s just me making be😂

This was so unique. We stumbled across it just walking around. It's like a museum, but there is tasting along the way. We even got some cocktail recipes. Much better way to taste alcohol samples than sitting at a bar for an hour. The place was visually beautiful as well. Worth the stop in, and it doesn't take long. We were here a half an hour maybe.

We took the paid tour with Kyle which was a very wise choice. He’s a great guide and the experience was amazing plus such a good deal for learning history and trying cocktails! We took the tour at the end but I’d do it over with starting at this place first!

Very cool! Free tour with some delicious samples. Definitely worth spending an hour or so to learn about the history of NOLA drinks and taste a few!

Needed a place to get out of the heat and get some air conditioning. Went on a self-guided tour that illustrates how Sazerac became part of the culture, tradition and noted drink of New Orleans. It also highlights other drinks that impacted not only New Orleans but the US and beyond. You also get to taste some of the drinks along the way. The self-guided tour was a lot better than we thought it would be and we had fun in the cool air-conditioned building. Almost did not do this but very glad we did. It’s such a nice place, very informative, and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Glad we did not miss doing this.

you don't need to but it is free and you then don't have to wait - I rebooked but arrived early and got straight in.

Hi Kyle! The tour is self guided with ambassadors placed throughout to answer questions, so you can go as fast or slow as you like. We generally recommend 90 minutes.
Cheers!

Thinking of taking a from my Harvey Golden Age group, just need to know if there are elevators since some of my members can`t do steps.
撰写日期:2020年1月30日
Yes. Once you check in and have the initial greeting from a staff member, you take an elevator to the top floor to start the tour. You work your way down during the full tour, but someone could easily take the elevator down to the next floor each time. Also, there are many spot to sit and engage in one of the experiences so if someone needed a standing break during the time there, they have many opportunities throughout the experience.
