We have much enjoyed our time in New Orleans and have no hesitation about paying “top dollar” for high quality experiences. This tour was promoted as a educative culinary and cultural experience, where we would “meet the people behind the scenes.” It wasn’t!
i) Poor quality destinations - bars serving food; ii) indifferent quality and meagre portions of food on offer - small cups of jambalaya, gumbo, and red beans with rice; iii) only water was offered unless we asked and paid for other beverages; iv) absolutely no engagement with “people behind the scenes.” On the contrary, one establishment had released our seats to “their customers” and we had to wait in the street until alternative upstairs seating was arranged; v) of the 16 paying customers, four left before the end of the tour.
This wasn’t an inexpensive culinary tour. It cost $85 per person to participate. We were very disappointed.

Laurent provided an exquisite experience and this was our favorite tour out of four that we took while in Née Orleans. Highly recommend this tour.

We started our first full day in New Orleans with this tour and it was haha down the best decision. Favorite tour we went on the entire trip and learned so much that helped made our trip even better. Our guide Beth was fantastic...a wealth of knowledge and excitement for the city and it's food. Not too much food but it was the best food.... Best gumbo and muffeletta from our visit. And we tried to find better.
Truly a great introduction to the city and it's history through the food we ate.

Quando estou em uma cidade nova costumo experimentar a comida típica e mais famosa da região. Em New Orleans comi os famosos Beignets , que são bolinhos doces, o Gumbo , uma sopa com frutos do mar e arroz levemente apimentada e o pudim de pão maravilhoso.
No Restaurante Napoleon experimentei o melhor Gumbo, pudim de pão.

We tried. We really did! We had good attitudes we stayed positive throughout. And we did not bail though we thought about it several times. Main points:
1)there was over an hour between the first nibble of food and the second.
2) drinks were scarce and not offered unless we paid and or asked for water and then had to get it ourselves.
3)we seemed like unwelcomed guests at all but one stop. We were literally yelled at to NOT sit at a table we were brought to. And instead had to circle up chairs without a table to awkwardly eat gumbo on our knees.
4)the food was mediocre at best.
5)and finally this was not an inexpensive food tour. We paid $65 for what amounted to the equivalent of a bad happy hour.
I’d like to add that we are forgiving and mellow people who would just like those three hours of our life back. Do yourself a favor: don’t make our mistake and skip this one.

We did this tour at the second part of the Cooking School Tour. Wish we would have done this on our first day because you learn so much about some of the specials at the restaurants. Portions were fine for us because we got full at the cooking school. By the time we were done my stomach was about to bust. Food was delicious and for someone who comes to NOLA a lot I was able to ask many local questions. Only two others signed up so we almost had a private tour. Guide was great and very knowledgeable. I had eaten at almost everyone of the restaurants but learned things about the specials that I would never know.

Great experience! Info here is for what you should know but nothing was bad. The school doesn’t put together this so you are in with people who are just taking the class. Most tables are tables of 6 or 8. They let you in the room based on when you booked so book early. Try to sit facing the front. If you sit in between the tables you’re going to get the crap knocked out of you during the whole class. Food was amazing and a lot of food, Pictures of beer service throughout. Chef Gumbo Marie was amazing. Then you get an hour break before you need to meet at one of the restaurants for the rest of the tour.

I highly recommend this tour with Annette. She is knowledgeable, fun, and a great guide. Food was in perfectly manageable portions.

This tour wit Annette was a highlight of New Orleans trip. Unique access to historic restaurants and private museums along with diverse tastings of local favorites. A must if in town for 3-4 days.

We booked this tour for our last day in New Orleans. The only redeeming part of the tour was that we had a few fun people in our group. The portions were small, food unexciting, the pace was slow, multiple stops on their normal tour were unavailable, and the guide did not hold the attention of the group. Granted, this was Mardi Gras weekend and that affected some of the stops being unavailable, but I wish there had been a disclaimer so we could've cancelled our tour. The 4 stops we did stay for included 3 inches of a sandwich, a praline in a wrapper, small portion of fried gator bites, and 1 cheese ball (to give you an idea on portions). We left before the last one as it dragged on for 3 hours and we were wasting our afternoon away. Of the $70 you pay, only a small fraction is spent on the per/person food, so don't expect a lot. For example, on our 4th stop the guide ordered 3 plates of cheese balls at $5/plate for our group of 11 ($770 total paid from the group). This did not feel behind the scenes or local at all, it was the worst food we ate our entire trip. You can get such good food everywhere. I would highly suggest popping in and out of places on your own time and ordering things to try instead going on this tour. DO NOT GO ON THIS TOUR. So dissapointed we did this instead of doing a couple of the things on our list we didnt get to.

Thank you for taking time to provide us with feedback on your tour. We are sorry you feel it did not live up to your expectations and receive your moneys worth. Many of our guests have said they ended up not following through with their dinner reservations because they had plenty on the tour. It is a shame you left early and missed out on the Turtle Soup and Shrimp Arnaud, two New Orleans favorites. The tours during the Mardi Gras season can run a bit slower due to the Mardi Gras festivities both on the streets and in the restaurants. We take our reviews and your experience seriously and will review the comments you brought up. We hope the rest of your stay in New Orleans was a enjoyable one.

Hard to say. There didn't seem to be any options on our tour, but we didn't notice anyone request anything different than what was offered.

Can you use Caesar's total reward credits or charge it to a Caesar's resort (Paris) We also have a $500 celebration voucher.

My understanding of the Caesar's program is that you can only use their credits at the 40 plus hotels and casinos associated with their program. This is not one of those programs.
