This place used to be kicking amazing! After the pandemic started though this place really went downhill fast. It used to be so much fun. Now, to my opinion is just boring. If you like to just relax and drink this is your place but if you want more, look somewhere else.

Just a few blocks off of Bourbon Street, Rawhide 2010 is worth the stroll. They're not afraid of being what they are: a hook-up spot for men. The small TVs playing hardcore gay porn set a fun tone. Apparently, women are welcome, but not in the back area where fun-loving guys will hook-up with each other. I love the permissiveness of this place. It's a fun place to let it all hang out, quite literally. I'm not a leather guy, but have felt very welcomed in jeans or shorts and a t-shirt. The non-judgemental, welcoming, open atmosphere makes this a great place. I hope that never changes. On weekends or special events, there might be a modest cover charge. Support your gay-friendly businesses!

Dropped in for a pre lunch drink. Perfect timing as it turned out to be happy hour.
Daniel, the barman was such a sweetie. Chatted and made us feel welcome
There were very few other patrons so we got chatting we had good fun. I think they were worried we didn't know it was a gay bar. We told them we had been drinking in gay bars since before they were born.
To us it was just a bar with air con and great service. Highly recommend this place.

As a cisgendered heterosexual mixed race couple never would we have expected to feel so at home. Every bartender we met was so welcoming and just plain fun. Alex was a favourite as he had great recommendations and an amazing sense of humour. We went both during the day and at night as it was across the street from where we stayed.They pour great and strong drinks. Favourites for us were the hurricane and long island iced tea. Cherry shots not for the faint of heart. Great music and awesome music videos! Highly recommend.

My wife and I stopped here for a drink. Didn't know it was a MANS bar, but it didn't matter. The best bloody marys in New Orleans. I had a great time, we went during the day.

I did not know it was a men's bar, kinda got the point when
ONLY men came in but never did i feel unwelcome
or uncomfortable. They did not treat us any different
and it was some of the best drinks i had while i was in
New Orleans!!!

luv 2 give me positive reviews when u do great service. Eric has been a great bartender and he know how 2 show u luv. If u in town and u need a good drink or like 2 see a handsome face, he's the guy for u. 😘😘

I always spend time at Rawhide when in New Orleans. Friendly locals and great bartenders. Special shout out to Richard and Jack. They remembered my drink and name; greeted me like a local when I came in. Lots of fun happens in the darkroom too.

Okay, we're gay...we're gonna check out the gay bars although we are not party animals or looking for anything but a good place to have a drink. So early in one day's jaunt in the Quarter, we step into Rawhide 2010 in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon. Of course at this time of day, there's only maybe 3 people in there which is fine with us. Looking at the inside of the place, the dark backroom with cruising rail, etc., the blackout shades that are lowered each late afternoon...yeah this place obviously is a place for shenanigans if you're a man that's into that. However, it is obviously a great neighborhood bar with great staff and drink prices. The one reason that I am writing this review is to note Jason, the afternoon bartender, who served me the best Bloody Mary of our entire trip to NOLA. I kid you not...I had Bloody Marys 5 or 6 times on the trip from high-end hotel bars to hole-in-walls dives on this trip. The Bloody Mary, in a large 12-ounce glass made with Rawhide's own mix was a 10 out of 10. Thanks, Jason!

Did they do away with the dark back room atmosphere? Was there this past weekend on a Friday night around midnight and they had lights on in the back room and tables and chairs set up along on of the walls. Can anyone tell me if the dark room is still there?

Is this place still open? Is back room open during the daytime?
Yeah it's open 24 hrs. I was there this past weekend and the back room was set up with tables and chairs along one wall and there were lights on and a light hung above the pool table. I'm not sure if they did away with the "dark" back room
