Excelente tour, una opción para disfrutar en Volcán en familia y salir de la rutina. Estar en contacto con la naturaleza y viendo las plantaciones de café. El Guía muy atento y amable. Excelente!

A wonderful walk through a coffee plantation where workers were busily picking coffee beans. An easy walk through forrest and listening to the birds. Ending with a view of the mountains around an sipping a cuppa. Nice introduction to the Highlands of Panama

Im Rahmen der Mittelamerika Reise von Studiosus haben wir die Finca Ceriana besucht. Nicht nur gabs viel Information über das Naturreservat sondern auch über die Landwirtschaft und speziell über den Kaffeeanbau. Luici Gonzàlez de la Lastra war ein interessanter und sympatischer Führer mit einem guten Sinn für Humor. Auch ein super Picknick und der Besuch der Zuckmühle stand auf dem Programm. Als Abschluss gabs noch einen Abstecher in den Coffee Shop der Janson Kaffeeplantage. - Ein sehr gelungener Tag

Depuis notre retraite en 2000 nous retournons chaque année 3-4 mois au Panama.
Le tourisme à Panama a encore beaucoup de progrès à faire. Excursions après excursions nous concluons, le plus souvent à notre retour que notre maison historique à Quarry Heights en ville de Panama est le paradis que nous n'aurions pas du quitter!
Depuis 1966 quand nous avons fait notre internat à l'Hospital Santo Tomas, les Panaméens se comportent en tueurs en série écologiques qui se plaisent à déstabiliser la biosphère globale en prélevant toujours plus de ressources dans l’environnement, en rejetant quantités de déchets et de toxiques bref en modifiant ainsi la composition du sol, de l’eau, de l’air qu’ils respirent et des aliments qu’ils mangent. Afin que leur qualité de vie se détériore, ils détruisent même las zonas reverdiras du canal de Panama! De serial killer écologique des grands et petits animaux, l’homme est devenu un meurtrier-pollueur de masse écologique et tout particulièrement dans ce pays tropical, les Panaméens se plaisent à déstabiliser la biosphère globale, mais heureusement ce n'est pas du tout le cas à la Finca Ceriana!
L'excursion à la Finca Ceriana avec son propriétaire Luigi est elle la belle exception et exceptionnelle.
La propriété est vaste, magnifique et respectueuse la nature.
Les plantations de café et autres sont bien entretenues et un exemple de perma-culture et de respect judicieux de la nature.
Les explications, de Luigi qui est cultivé, sont intéressantes et convaincantes.
Le pic-nique dans la nature fut très sympathique, vraiment unique et la nourriture très bonne.
Nous recommandons chaleureusement cette belle et instructive excursion et souhaitons que cette propriété magnifique reste encore de longues génération dans la famille de la Lastra qui est si respectueuse de la nature et de la biosphère globale.
Un couple admiratif de médecins retraités "suizo.panameno" et une amie en visite de Suisse,

I see most everyone else has rated this lovely place a 5 - me, too. You cannot go wrong here. Something for everyone, including kids: Beautiful setting, lots of birds for the birders, excellent meal and wine, farm animals, fun living history with sugar cane pressing, passing along knowledge of how coffee is grown and processed. And the story of the airstrip - that's the best part! Delightful day in the country, and would love to come back and ride those horses.

We had a great day out with Luigi and his staff learning about the area around Volcan, coffee growing, the forest and the history of the area. We had a private group of 10 ranging from seniors to small children, and the staff did their best to accommodate everyone including a ride for the ones who could not hike as well, and juice boxes during the hiking break for the kids who did not want a coffee tasting. The lunch meal was like from the pages of a magazine, with a long table laid out and something for everyone to try, surrounded by the farm, flowers, and forest. The canopy stop on the hike is amazing, and you will want to stay for hours to watch the birds. I love these small type tours, where you have access to the guides - I think we learned the most about Panama from Luigi than anywhere else on our trip. Thank you!

Had a wonderful day with Luigi and his staff. Beautiful farm, learned a lot about Geisha coffee, the forest, great hike and coffee, lunch, sugar cane demonstration and Luigi is just such a nice person. Very informative and a great day to spend with him on our son's 20th birthday. Very thoughtful group and they had a piece of cheese cake for his birthday! Really enjoyable and strongly recommend

Friendly, felt like part of the Family. Well informed, Family owned, rugged inventors, family owned reserve. Into Eco friendly place. geisha coffee farm. Told about there history of the farm, Knowledgeable on plants and animals.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer la finca en un hermoso día, caminamos por uno de los senderos y hubo la oportunidad de ver diferentes aves. Mi favorita fue el forest hawk! Es muy interesante conocer sobre su café y ver un trapiche.. tenía años sin ver uno. Finalizamos con una comida saludable y deliciosa hecha con vegetales frescos!! RECETA FAMILIAR JUMM!!

Muy buenos días! En Finca Ceriana tenemos 4 diferentes tours: 1. Tour familiar $15/adulto y $7.50/niños de 6 a 12
2. Amantes de la naturaleza $65/adulto $45/niño
3. Tour Premium (incluye almuerzo gourmet) $95/adulto $50 niños
4. Familiar con almuerzo $75/adultos $35/niños
Es necesario reservar con 48hr de antelación para tours con almuerzo y 24hrs todos los demás.

My wife and are planning on visiting the Volcan area and read about your farm. Can you tell me more about what we can expect. ie are there public tours or are all tours private. If we visit your farm can we hike by ourselves or is it all guided.
What are the costs of the various services you provide?

Dear Don,
Thanks so much for contacting us today, it will be a pleasure to take you to Finca Ceriana if you find our tours to your liking.
We are located 3 Km from the Volcán Air strip, at the end of the Janson Coffee Farm. Finca Ceriana is a Nature Reserve and thus it is a place with wild animals, visitors must be accompanied by a guide at all times. All tours include transportation from and to your hotel, place of residence or the Volcán Airport parking area.
Description of what you can expect when visiting us and taking the specialized Nature / birding Tour:
In route to Finca Ceriana your guide will provide Information about the town of Volcán, the highlands of Chiriquí & The Janson Family. You will go through the Janson Family coffee and the Tree Tomato plantations while listening to general explanations about both of them and coffee in general.
You will be able to admire a beautiful view of the Baru Volcano and your guide will explain some interesting facts about this mountain. In addition, you will get to admire a beautiful Nature Corridor of about 240 hectares and get information about its importance for the region.
Once in Finca Ceriana, you will walk through about 3 km of beautiful trails while your expert guide explains to you what you see, particularly, beautiful and rare birds of the 180+ species that live in this forest. Mid way your tour, you will go up a nice Canopy Tower, where you will enjoy our great Janson Family coffee and savor our local butter cookies, while you admire the cloud forest and relax for as long as you wish.
When you are ready, your tour continues through the trails up a hill where you will get to see a magnificent view of the low lands of Chiriquí, Costa Rica and, if the weather permits, the Pacific Ocean.
At around 12:00 pm you will start your descent to the lower part of the farm, where we will be expecting you for a gourmet picnic under the trees. You will enjoy your home made lunch with a nice glass of wine and, again, relax and enjoy the view for as long as you desire.
When you are ready, we walk some meters towards the Sugar cane mill, where your guide will explain the sugar cane process and you will get to taste fresh sugar cane juice, and other sugar cane products.
This tour normally runs from 8am to 3pm. If there are no other visitors that day, we can change the schedule to accommodate your needs.
In addition to the above, we also offer regular tours, which include all of the above except detail explanation about birds, animals and plants in the forest. These tours are for people that just like to walk through the forest and relax.
