My family reserved seats for the nostalgic train/Höllentalbahn two weeks ago, as we wanted to take the train to celebrate my grandmother's 86th birthday. After having to find the stop and walking across the train station to the train station in 10 minutes with my grandmother, who has difficulty walking, we arrived at the train - quite out of breath - a few minutes before departure.
According to the conductor, other passers-by had "unfortunately" taken the slips of paper for our seat reservation and sat in the seats reserved for us. Due to our displeasure, the conductor got on the train and pointed out to the people that the seats were reserved, but did not think it was necessary to actually tell the people that they had to stand up. He told us that we all had to stand. Although we explained our situation to him (my family consists of an old, frail woman, two pregnant women, a man with cancer, a person with a serious intestinal disease and 5 other people), we were now supposed to stand in the narrow aisle for 40 shaky minutes in temperatures of over 30°C.
Despite having a reservation!
After we had once again explicitly informed the conductor of our situation, he asked other passers-by to stand up for us in the other carriages. However, he did not ask the people who had taken our notes to stand up again.
(A point where I have to shake my head again at the ignorance of some people...)
In the end, a few of us were able to squeeze into individual seats with other passers-by in the cozy heat and 4 of us actually had to stay standing. So we were now completely spread out in the three carriages of the train.
When we asked the conductor about it again after the trip because we didn't understand why he didn't tell the people who had taken our notes that they had to stand up, he said there was nothing he could do.
(At this point I wonder why a conductor no longer has any authority these days and has become such a joke.)

The remains of the Höllental Railway (Höllentalbahn) is a narrow gauge electric railway with a track gauge of 760 mm (2 ft 5+15⁄16 in), which runs on weekends from the OEBB station of Payerbach Reichenau on the Semmering Railway for approximately five kilometres through the market town of Reichenau an der Rax to Hirschwang.
