Had a great day with Zac touring into the Yukon beyond Skagway. He was very personable and had lots of good information about what we were seeing. Knew where to stop for photo opportunities and we had a great lunch. Highly recommend.

Myself and two teenage sons stopped at Skagway as one of the ports of Royal Caribbean Alaskan cruise. I don't like to book excursions via the cruise ship because of the expense, proclivity for larger tour groups. I booked a half day dog-sledding experience with Skagway Day trips and it was probably one of our most memorable tours.
On the 1.5 hour drive there, our driver/tour guide, Harry, regaled us with historical information and stories of the town and the award -winning Dog Sled Farm we were about to encounter. It was in the Yukon, Canada, but we went through customs smoothly with Harry's professional expertise. The usually scenic drive was somewhat encumbered by thick fog and rain, which slowed down our progress immensely, in addition to missing out on the beautiful landscapes.
However, Harry confidently navigated the roads deftly, keeping us entertained with his stories and humor. We stopped at a few amazing cliff sides to take pictures and walk around a bit.
Upon arrival at the Marie's Dog Camp, we were virtually the only ones there. There was a litter of 7 three week old pups, which we got to hold, then a demonstration featuring the sledding equipment and info on how one prepares/engages in a dog-sled race. Then onto the sledding adventure! About 12 Alaskan husky/german shepherd mix dogs pulled a golf-cart like "sled" with about 5 of us aboard. My kids stood up in the back, loving it the whole time! The highlight was when we took a turn and suddenly all of the dogs jumped into a side pond to cool off. They all have different personalities.
What I liked best about this tour is that Harry only takes small groups (we had about 10). This dog sled camp also only caters to small group as well, which makes the experience much more enjoyable, and time efficient.
I can't say enough about Harry, our driver/guide. Even though we were running late due to the weather, he still made sure we stopped at some wonderful sites, and did not rush us.

We had 8 people in our van which made it very comfortable for everyone. Harry was great telling us what we were seeing and as we were the last tour of the day, we went straight to the Alaskan dog sled training camp. Harry knew everyone and got puppies out for anyone who wanted to hold them. He explained the difference in Huskies and Alaskan sled dogs and they needed to be lighter and able to go the distance, like a marathon runner. We drove up to the Yukon sign and took pictures.
On the way back we stopped at Tutshi Lake where Harry taught the two little girls on the trip to skip stones. He was very good with the kids.
We stopped at Bridal Veil Falls and drank from the falls and took pictures. All in all a very nice 4 hour tour with a super guide/driver.

My husband and I went on this tour in early June with Tim as our driver/guide. I chose the full day Yukon and Beyond trip as it it appeared to be much better value than anything offerred by our cruiseship tours. The tour was wonderful and Tim was an excellent and entertaining guide. The weather also cooperated to make this trip memorable. We only had 5 people in the van and it was very comfortable. The ability to stop as desired to see wildlife and take photos of the beautiful scenery was so much more attractive than taking the train. The stop at Michelle Phillips sled dog camp was a highlight - you get a talk then get taken on a ride in a wheeled vehicle pulled by a team of dogs around the property for maybe 15 minutes. There were also several young pups to cuddle and a couple of cabins/gift store with displays. Lunch was very nice consisting of a lovely thick soup and toasted sandwich. Due to road work delays the tour was running late to get one couple back to their cruise ship in time. We missed a couple of sightseeing stops on the way back to get the couple back to their ship in time but Tim turned the van around and took the rest of us up the mountain again for at least another hour, for more sightseeing that we would of missed otherwise. We also managed to see some wildlife on the trip, bald eagles and even a bear by the side of the road. I would recommend this tour and this company to anyone considering touring this region.

We were met by Zac as planned and off we went. We booked for the Summit tour but because of the weather, we were treated with an extended drive free of charge. Zac was an excellent tour guide. He gave us a history of the Gold Rush period, answered questions to detail and provided lots of information and entertainment. High five for Zac, totally recommended for tour. We toured the tormented valley area and were delighted to view stop at one of the dog sledding farm. Thanks much Zac. You made our trip very memorable despite the gloomy weather.

It was a great tour, the scooter rentals were a blast! They were a real relaxed, easygoing group of employees who later took us on a wonderful tour of a town right outside of Skagway to visit a wildlife filled bay! Our bus driver Harry was super informative and very entertaining (definitely ask for him) he really made it a great tour! Me and my family of 3 definitely would come back again!

Our driver was Zac. We loved the whole experience -having only 8 of us in the van, Zac's ongoing information, dialogue, humor and stopping for photos (or bathroom/whatever) along the way. The drive up and back was spectacular, and our visit to the Dog Kennels was one of the highlights of our trip. I loved seeing all the dogs, going on a run with them and learning about the Iditarod and Yukon dog races.

Tour guide was Harry. Dialogued to us Entertaining insight into life in Skagway - local politics, entertainment, and activities. Stopped along the way to admire a mother bear and her cub, opportunities to take pictures with signs for Alaska, British Columbia, and Yukon. (Take your passport, you have to go through the Canadian border station). Also stopped at the Tormented Forrest, and a local lake with a beach. Once arrived at the Yukon destination, received a friendly greeting, played with puppies, viewed small collection of Michelle's awards from her races and acknowledgements, informative demonstration from an employee, then rode in a Jeep pulled by the dog team. Michelle, the musher, did not interact with guests but was caring for the dogs. I would have liked to hear her tell about her experiences as a musher. Harry was intent to ensure we were treated well and enjoyed the whole experience. Highly recommend this outing to get away from the tourism traps (endless jewelry stores) in town and get a sense of life in Alaska and the local culture. Also take a walk through Skagway beyond the main drag. It has a nice school, an airport, and a nice park.

Harry was our tour guide as we experienced Skagway with our family of four and our friends family of five - The smaller tour allowed us to have a much better experience than on a larger bus. Harry was very very knowledgeable of the sites from a historical perspective and even had tips on good eats.

We took a tour with Zac through the mountains, to the dog sledding camp and tons of scenic stops along the way. We were with my 7 year old daughter and my 77 year old mom and Zac delighted both of them throughout the trip. We went to stops off the beaten path and really got an understanding on why Zac loves living in this area. Even through the super thick fog, Zac made us feel safe and in good hands. It was truly a delight and the best part of the trip. It was clear Zac has a love of his job and the area but also the environment, the animals and the people in this area. Truly one of the best trips we've ever taken and Zac was an amazing guide!
