Such a peaceful and beautiful beach , it was fun to get a water taxi , Just as a caution always ask when is the last water taxi back . The schedule times don’t always apply . The food on the island was great .

We visited Alki Beach on our last day in Seattle. After having lunch, we walked up and down the boardwalk. The views were amazing and it was fun watching the seagulls and seals out in the harbor.

This is a large beach area with plenty of space. There is also a restroom and an outside shower area. The day we came here, the water close to shore was filled with thick seaweed. I don’t know if this is usual or unusual for this area. Anyways, it is a fairly nice place to escape the city.

We had dinner at Alki Beach on a hot Thursday night. We were planning to take a walk along the promenade and had allowed extra time, which was fortunate as parking is a nightmare and pretty much forced a walk. Anyway, the area is very pretty and well maintained. The sunset was great. There were quite a few people on the beach. Some were in the water but I think it was very cold.

A local friend took us here. We loved strolling along the beach on the board walk (mobility issues - we didn't do the sand), and enjoyed the birds, the statue of Liberty, the lighthouse, the boats, and seeing the space needle in the distance. We also went to nearby Schmitz Woods for an old growth forest experience, and we ate at Alki Cafe. We'd recommend this as an extremely pleasant morning for anyone who likes a beach getaway in a big city!!!

Perfect place if you are looking for some ocean feel but don't want to drive for hours to get to Westport and similar. Yes, it can get pretty busy but today it was just the right amount of lively, quirky, very Seattle-like, and offered some gorgeous views and a summer beach town vibe.
Tip: if you are looking for something quieter and more serene, my favorite part of the area is actually beyond the Alki Point Lighthouse - around Constellation Park. There you won't be met with crowds and can just enjoy the sprawling views of the water.

This is a great beach to visit. Their are amazing views of Seattle from this beach, and depending on the time of year you can occasionally see whales from the beach. This is a great place to spend the day and enjoy fantastic scenery, as well as their are countless restaurants in the area.

The beach is great and not too crowded. There are many restaurants in the area, most of which serve excellent food. Definitely a nice place to enjoy a sunny afternoon!

Be prepared for the bate and switch on car pickup/drop off locations when booking through Expedia. We searched for Denver Airport, booked a car at a car rental location at Denver Airport and at the final stage of booking, the location changed to 40 minutes away and unfortunately we missed it. When we noticed the problem two days before the pickup day, Expedia said there was no way for them to change the pickup/drop off location. We had to cancel the rental and rebook (not through Expedia). We will never use Expedia for a car rental again.

Very scenic and nice walking a bike paths. Great view of the ships and ferry’s. Nice restaurants and shops. A very lovely fun place to visit.

I'm not too sure about public transportation but they seem reliable as far as I can see. I had used uber for majority of my trip and majority of the restaurants are on one straight row so we did a lot of walking to and from.

There are picnic tables and built in grills available. Apparently you can reserve a table for busier times. See the Seattle Parks website for reservations. Seattle.gov

We took a water taxi and rented bikes at that same spot. The ride to the Alki beach trail was short and safe :)

The fireworks are at lake union now. You may be able to see a little but Downtown Seattle and the Queen Anne hill blocks quite a bit of them.
