City and market very nice, diverse, pleasantly relaxed, only missing the promised antiques. The antiques suburb partly closed despite market day, poor quality, completely inflated prices and that should then be France's 2. And Europe's 3. Be junk/antique town? Yeah.

Point of Sale worthwhile because it is located in the city center and by the canals. Very imposing, there are fruits, vegetables, meat, fish but also souvenirs, soaps, clothes and various objects. Nice to do some shopping or souvenirs but especially for tourists. Depending on the period, it's crowded. But the soot is nice to stroll. Arrive early because then it will take luck and patience to park.

Very nice market.
Many cool junk clothes, cosmetics and local products.
Very nice Food Point of Sale and very good products vegetables, fruits...
Very busy Point of Sale and difficult parking despite parking available.
There is also a Thursday Morning Point of Sale but less important

Sadly, I would have to agree with some of the other reviewers. I had high hopes as the area has been billed as comparable or even better than antique markets in Paris. Not by a long shot. It was crowded, tacky, overpriced, horrible to park and completely lacking in antique vendors. There were some permanent, higher end, high priced antique dealers down a little laneway but that was not what I was there for. Isle sur-la-Sorgue is a pretty little place that offered a scenic drive from Aix but not worth it at all.

Very nice Point of Sale with lots of things to see, smell, taste, eat, try! It is a must visit despite the rush to park.
You can stroll between the stalls, then go through the antique shops.

WATCH OUT FOR SCAMMERS! Market overvisited by tourists with a rather good purchasing power. Traders know this and take advantage of it!.... Watch out for the sometimes exorbitant prices: for example, this weekend, we saw so-called French figs (knowing that the first seizure is over, and that we have to wait until the end of August for the second harvest...) at 9euros95 les 500grs!!.... Of course, it was done in such a way as to deceive the barge... and this is just one example among many.

Wonderful place to visit - BUT - do NOT go on a Sunday which is market day and is so busy you cannot move. We went back another day and it was a beautiful place to visit with lovely shops and stalls all set around lovely waterways.

On a Sunday morning when I like to make this nice Provencal Point of Sale.

The large market is on Sunday, and is one of the largest in southern France. It starts around 9 AM, some vendors are there earlier, and most close up at 1 PM. You can’t miss it. It covers the entire business district of central L’Ille, focused of the main part of the river and over to the cathedral and down the street where the Hotel de Ville is situated. Arrive in time to obtain a good parking spot, otherwise you will have to walk a few blocks.
During the week there is a farmers market, good for grocery shopping, less interesting for tourists, but still neat.
There are a lot of Antique stores. Most face the Main Street that goes thru the city center next to the largest part of the river. L’Ille is surrounded by branches of the river, not all are real wide. Some Antique stores focus on the weekends when the most tourists are there. Several times a year the market is combined with a large outdoor antique market too.
For more info, write a note to the Tourist Buro. They will send you good info on markets and sights to visit.

Is anyone able to advise the best way to get to L'Isle-sur-la-Sourge from Uzes. We will be staying in Uzes in September 2017 and will not have a vehicle.

We had rented a vehicle and often got lost which can be a good thing. As the other reviewer mentioned, there is a bus that will get you there but with all the small roads, everything takes time. Enjoy L'isle, it's worth the visit.
