I have stayed (staid) at several Springfield Hotels including the Crown Plaza.
I was booked into the Pasfield House & loved it so much that I increased my stay to over 10+ nights.
My stay included the following rooms: The Hive, The Nest, The George
All were spectacular.
Loved the tub in The George.
1/2 a block from the Illinois Capital Building.
Molly the owner is a nice person.

As is now clear from their website (updated after I booked), this is an event space; the so-called “boutique hotel” rooms are an afterthought. I booked based on reviews that spoke glowingly of the owners’ hospitality. After booking, I was informed that management of my booking would be handled by a company in California (!) that, based on what I could find, specializes in short-term rentals for medical students. Upon arrival, the contactless check-in (keypads) did work smoothly, although we were surprised to find many workmen in and around the place. There is a separate entrance for overnight guests: a very steep and narrow stairway up which to schlep your bags. The front door was wide open for the workmen, and the main stairs open to the overnight room area. Sure hope the front door got locked overnight! Note that there are no common areas for guests; the main floor rooms are filled with catering tables and chairs. There was a lot of outdoor seating (for the events, of course), but it had an air of neglect, with cushions not cleaned, or on the ground. Not the ambience one expects when lodging in a historic home. The room itself was perfectly fine, although I selected it based on its private (I thought) balcony, which actually opened to another area the workmen were accessing via a ladder. The balcony also had a wadded-up rug, and the seating again appeared neglected and not ready to use. The kitchenette looked nice, but was useless without any advice on where one might buy provisions, or even a bottle of wine. And if your “boutique hotel” does not offer breakfast, some advice on where to obtain it would be much appreciated by your guests. In sum, if you’re looking for a nice room near downtown and zero personal contact, this is the place for you! If you’re looking for warm hospitality and ambience (as we were), look elsewhere!

Pasfield House has a history and in it's current state one enjoys its history and also enjoys its modern conveniences. Our room (and I think the other rooms as well) had a kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, sink and ice maker. The bathroom has a shower and jacuzzi. The bedroom has antiques and historic flavor but comfort as well. We totally enjoyed our stay in this lovely old house. Molly is a wonderful hostess!

The Pasfield House Inn is a great place to stay in Springfield, IL. It's a historic house with a lot of antique furnishings wonderful place to stay

The host is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Springfield's history. We had a large group which they had never accomodated before and I think the experience would be much better for individual lodgers and diners or a small group with the genial host.

I have been to social events held at the Pasfield House many times - Mardi Gras and Christmas being two exceptional events. Tony Leone, the proprietor is a warm and welcoming host who decorates the Pasfield House so it is literally dripping in Mardi Gras and holiday attire. I highly recommend this as a place to host a party, meeting, or any social event - thr B&B is also highly regarded.

Attended a party here and the food was just okay, all items seemed to be items bought at a bulk food store and warmed up. The home is beautiful, but also could use some work.

A friend of ours had their wedding at the Pasfield House. First, they have nowhere near enough parking for an event. We were making up parking spaces at nearby businesses. The ceremony was outdoors. There was no audio equipment, so we couldn't hear the vows or anything, and I found something had the scent of cat pee. The location was nice enough, it was what I would expect from a bed and breakfast. There were some outdoor places to sit, and the interior was filled with brick-a-brac like you'd find in any B&B. The reception was indoors, and it took over pretty much the whole first floor. I'd recommend anyone thinking of holding an event to count numbers carefully, there isn't a lot of room for tables. The food was delicious, and there was plenty of it. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly.

We enjoyed staying here over July 4th and the owner Tony Leone treated us great. He was full of great information about local attractions and eateries, as well as historical data.
The house itself is amazing. Nicely restored and maintained with lots of wood. Detail is amazing. Our room was spacious and had a nice double jacuzzi tub. The kitchenette was adequate and the breakfast options were good. Free sodas in the fridge too. The Lincoln decor and collection in our room and communal room downstairs was awesome!
Wish I had more time to learn more about the history of the house and of Lincoln from Tony. Be sure to ask him about the horseshoe sandwich.
