Beautiful park but sadly very bad experience with the people that works in the park(director and receptionist)
I had a bad day experience at and they where not helpful at all and the worst part they lied telling me they were going to send someone to assist me and never happened so could be a nice park but it’s a town full of haters and we don’t want more haters in this world.

A great park, especially if you like walking. The greenhouse had beautiful orchids and others flowering plants. The public restrooms were very clean. Watch out for goose poop as you walk by the ponds.

Washington park used to be where coal was strip mined for the city of Springfield. Over the past century, it has been groomed into a beautiful park in a beautiful part of town.

Lovely park. Walking path, a botanical garden, lake with birds. It was lovely to see all the trees changing color.

Nice spot for a casual stroll. The park is large and there are plentiful trails and roads (if you choose to just drive through).

This is one if the nicest park in Springfield. You can go for a walk or picnic. There are multiple activities organized during the year like fire works, Carillon festival.
The Washington Park Botanical Garden includes a nice conservatory and botanical garden. It is open daily during the afternoons; admission is free.
International Carillon Festival is held every year in summer sometime in the month of June. This is a very nice experience.
The International Carillon Festival was first held in 1962.
Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular festival is nice experience in fall. You can experience hundreds of illuminated hand-carved jack-o-lanterns displayed around the Carillon and the Washington Park Botanical Garden.

Nice urban park in Springfield. Places to walk and benches to sit on. There’s even an ice cream/drink stand. The pond is nice and the ducks are cute. Nice neighborhood around the park.

I visited Washington Park after a busy day sightseeing in Springfield. I walked around the gazebo and other areas before heading out to pick up dinner. Then I ordered carry out so I could eat it in the park on a bench. It was a very relaxing dinner! (There are ample parking spots and trash cans.) I walked around the Rose Garden, the Angel of Hope memorial, and the outside of the Botanical Gardens before the half hour carillon concert. More details are on their Facebook page. The park was filled with locals and the trails were in use by many.

The park is a really nice spot to walk around and explore. The ducks are adorable and fun to watch. There is a playground that is great for the kids. It is a really nice place to stop and walk around.

yes there are paved and unpaved trails, i think the paved trail is about 2 miles!
