Yes, the 'changing rooms' are manky... but it IS free, so go in with an open mind and a good sense of humour! There's a fifteen-minute walk along a super rocky path to get from the car park to the pool, and no place to put your stuff. Just drop it on the side of the pool and hop in. It is a super fun and unique experience, and you could not ask for better views! Really grateful to whatever government agency keeps this place open. Make sure you sit in the throne of hot water.

This was definitely worth the little walk. After reading reviews we did not take our suits and when we arrived we immediately went back to the car to retrieve them. The pool is warm, yes there is algae but only in the floor of the pool making it slippery. There was no garbage in the changing rooms. Everyone was respectful of the location. Definitely go and definitely bring your bathing suit and towel. The views are amazing. You won’t be sorry.

Nice walk there. The changing rooms were really dirty. Old clothes and all kinds of dirt were piled up in the corners. The water was not hot but lukewarm to cold. Some hikers have been there because it is an experience not to be missed. But no one stayed there for long. Too cold!

Life is nice, the swimming pool too. On the other hand, the pipe which brings the water from the hot spring to the swimming pool was holed so there was not enough flow to heat the swimming pool, the place remains exceptional

Excellent free hot tub in the midst of wonderful nature. Changing rooms available for changing and accessible walk of approximately 15 minutes from the car park

piscina termale di seljavallalaug si ci arriva lasciando la macchina in un parcheggio alla fine si una strada sterrata, e dopo una camminata di 15 minuti non segnalata, per arrivare alla piscina, bisogna guadare un fiumiciattolo, poi si arriva, ma sinceramente niente di che, consiglio solo in caso di bel tempo, noi siamo andati in giugno col freddo e una brutta giornata...l'acqua era fredda tranne che da dove usciva...

Absolutely breathtaking surrounds. Pool could be amazing and unique. However it is dirty, full of algae, rubbish thrown inside the rooms, full of dirty clothes.
The water is not warm.
It looks like the pipe has moved and the hot water is now flowing towards the river instead.
We didn’t go in the pool after seeing how unkept everything was

Un lieu toujours aussi magique, perdu au fond d'une vallée et sans réseau téléphonique.
L'eau était un peu fraîche pour y rester des heures dedans (excepté près de la canalisation d'alimentation en eau chaude).
L'eau contient toujours autant de micro-algues (une bonne douche est nécessaire après 😀).

Amazing place to visit and see surrounding. Unfortunately due very cold weather water temperature was not enough for swim. I believe in summer time it will be great. It is good to walk a little bit further to see a beautiful mountains.

You could visit one of the modern public pools along the way(every town has one). They offer showers as well as more modern hot and cold pools, saunas and steam baths.

I went in late March of this year and I think it's worth it. It was about 2-3 degrees out and not much snow. I had read that the water wasn't very warm, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was one of the highlights of our trip so I definitely recommend a trip out there.
