Learned lots and liked the variety in the tasting, make sure to take some home, nice outside seating
Very thorough explanation of the cider processing and took a good amount of time with us for all the tastings, Carrie was very knowledgeable

Great little cidery with a good selection of dry to sweet options. No beer options but do have coke, sprite, etc for the DD. Lots of outdoor and some indoor seating. Girls behind the were super helpful with my selection. I would recommend if you have a cider drinker in the group.

My husband and I took this tour and tasting yesterday. Brian was our tour guide. We new very little about cider, we were just looking for something fun to do in Richmond. We made a great choice! Brian was entertaining and gave us a great education on cider making and Blue Bee. The tasting was fun and we got to sample 8 different ciders. We had the opportunity to purchase some to take home which we excitedly did. Highly recommend. One suggestion: do the tour during the week so you get the time and attention to make your experience the best.

Blue Bee Cider was generous enough to allow a nonprofit board on which I serve to use one of their spaces for a meeting. I am incredibly grateful for the use of their very cool space, which was once stables now elegantly transformed into a cidery with lots of character. Before leaving I purchased their Mill Race Bramble. It was fantastic. I haven’t been a cider-lover but they may have just transformed me!

We had been members of the Blue Bee Cider Club since it started in 2012. There had been a few hiccups, but they were eventually ironed out. We liked to correlate our club pickups with our appointments at the Richmond Veterans Hospital since it is a 4-hour round trip for us. Parking was usually difficult to find. Last Wednesday we decided to pick up our club shipment after a late doctor appointment. Seeing no parking spaces we decided to do a drive through. My husband was going to stop and let me out while I ran in to get the shipment. There was a drive through area clearly marked from the street view. As he stopped there was a woman running up to our car screaming and yelling at us to stop and to back out. I told her that I was picking up a shipment— which I did. We left. I reported it to the owner on FB via message which appeared to be read and ignored. We then dropped our membership because of the disrespect.

A friend and I booked the Blue Bee Cidery Tour and tasting for a fun afternoon in Richmond, and we had a fantastic time! Linda taught us some facts about the cider making process in the facility tour, and then led a tasting of about 8 different cider samples. My favorite was the blackberry ginger. We then sat outside and had grilled cheese sandwiches from Truckle (cheese shop) which is also in the building. I had their pimento and Virginia ham grilled cheese, and it was scrumptious. We get a lot of great pimento cheese here in North Carolina, but this was truly exceptional! We ended up sitting in the Blue Bee's outdoor seating area ( they have seating areas inside and out) for a couple of hours, enjoying the lovely ambience and music. All of the staff there was friendly and attentive. It's a beautiful location, and the cider and food was fantastic. Highly recommend!

We would return in a heartbeat after the experience at Blue Bee. Julia was an amazing tour guide through the cidery. Her wealth of knowledge, passion and joy was seen throughout the time at Blue Bee. She was able to help us connect what we saw during the tour with what we were tasting. This gem of a place is something to take in. If you don't have time for a tour I recommend making time for the cider and cheese shop.

So glad you had fun! Thanks for joining us. It's tough keeping this historic stables complex climate-controlled, so it helps having chilled cider tanks in the cellar. Cheers!

Yes! They are allowed everywhere including indoors, except the production area and the cheese shop.

No. Since the ciders contain alcohol, a teen would not be allowed to sample the products.
