Lovely cemetery. Yet, the kiosk is still not working and it seems to have become a dog park. On the day I was there, dogs were running free. There are no signs for owners to keep dogs on leashes, so I’m guessing it was a family thing? Very concerning

Resting place of many civil war veterans, as well as Barbara Fritchie who was immortalized by John Greenleaf Whittier’s 1863 poem about her 1862 standing up to the Confederates in support of the US flag. Of additional note is the Frances Scott Key Monument and grave, as well as other markers for historic figures. Beautiful cemetery worth the stop.

Grounds are always well maintained but there is still issues with the kiosk. In a recent visit, the screen display “Ronald515@xxx.com ( I’ve deleted the server name although anyone can take a pic) and I could not reboot or refresh the system. This is a valuable service to the visitor when searching for a friend or relative so I’m at a loss as to why this not regularly monitored and managed. Recommend calling the office and verify if the kiosk is up and running.

Excellent historical site with numerous sites of historic significance. Visit the main office at the mausoleum and pick up a pamphlet for the cemetery that shows where the most important sites are to visit while there.

We went here in the morning, there were only a few people walking tor jogging in the Cemetery.
I always like to visit older cemeteries that might not have any people who come to pay their respects any longer.
We only made a very small dent in the and entirety of the Cemetery... It is massive.
I appreciated the clean restrooms at the front of the Cemetery, close to Francis Scott Key's final resting place.
Being a Veteran, I visited the WWII memorial & the Confederate Graves & marker in the back.
We also visited the mausoleums. It was cool, quiet, & beautiful inside.
This is a wonderful & peaceful place to come. I took so many photos.
I was surprised to find out that they still have available plots or vaults in the mausoleums for purchase.
I recommend getting here quite early in the summer due to the heat. (we arrived around 10am).

The cemetery is landscaped nicely, walks are clear, and lawns are manicured.
However, the cemetery has a kiosk database just to the right of the Key monument (near restrooms) that is rarely operational. If you are going there to do genealogy or if you are looking for a specific headstone for a friend, I highly recommend you call ahead. I've been there several times and have not been able to look up any information. Emailing ahead of time is questionable because emails have gone unanswered.

I has a little trouble finding the entrance near Key's grave. Thankfully it's just inside the gate. There was a small area beside the grave I was able to park in. The grave is a giant monument complete with a statue of Key on top. A billboard near the monument has a button that plays the Star Spangled Banner. I can't review the rest of the grave because Key's grave is as far as I went.

After leaving the battlefield, we took a quick trip to the cemetery. The Key memorial is right in front of the cemetery. It was a pleasant surprise to our visit to Frederick.

It was a real thrill to visit Francis Scott Key's grave at last. I'd been wanting to do this for years and finally made it. Everyone should do so.

Beautiful, well kept cemetery. My grandmothers grave is here by the chapel. Behind that, at the edge are graves of civil war soldiers.
