The temperatures were low at freezing but there are plenty of eateries to stop and get warm. Worth the walk to enjoy the boats in the creek. Don't forget to check it out at night.

Very well maintained and developed center of the City of Frederick. Great scenery for a walk with numerous restaurants, breweries, and shops nearby.

Frederick was one of our favorite stops on a three week trip through this part of the States. There is 45-minute free parking in the lot adjacent to the visitor center, and even better, 3-hours free parking at 125 E. All Saints Street Parking Garage, about a block from the visitor center. Pick up a self-walking-tour map and spend a few minutes enjoying their well-done historic displays. Then wander. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely walk along Carroll Creek, and the National Museum of Civil War Medicine.

This linear park is reminiscent of San Antonio's River Walk, albeit quieter and smaller. Although not exactly on the creek's banks, several restaurants are adjacent. Works of art are scattered about as well.

Fredrick is a delightful place to visit full of character, history, shops and restaurants to mention just a few of it's charms. The Carroll Creek is another reason to visit and enjoy. The creek has beautiful water lilies, ducks and sculptures. Peaceful and charming it offers an atmosphere to calm the inner soul.

After celebrating Mother’s Day with my family, it was suggested we visit the Carrol Creek Riverwalk to see the sculptures made by local artists. I am glad we did. The Riverwalk has not only creative art exhibits but also fountains. On one side of the walk, there are a couple craft breweries as well as food trucks. In fact, there were four breweries within walking distance of the river walk for those who chose to imbibe in craft beers. When we visited, a good number of people were enjoying outdoor seating at the breweries. Also, there are many benches for those who opt to sit, and people watch along the walking path. On Mother’s Day, there was free adequate parking in a nearby lot. A few restaurants are nearby. Bridges over the creek allow easy access to either side of the creek. There are many photo ops along the walk for those so inclined. Definitely a “must do” when in Frederick, Maryland.

Super cute. Very nice wide area to walk along, and a lighted boat parade has been created in the creek for the holidays, which is fun to look at.

This is a great park to enjoy on a cool Fall day, particularly to people-watch. There are benches along the way so one can sit and just observe or take in the calmness away from the crowd. The trompe l’œil paintings are amazing.

A beautiful walk right downtown. I loved the variety of art along the walk. There are many restaurants close by and benches to sit and people watch.

Fishing is not allowed in Carroll Creek in the downtown area. However, Culler Lake is nearby and fishing is allowed there.

Here you go--there is ample parking in these garages. May as well go right to one of these, as parking is tight on the streets, with meters, as the person above mentioned. It's inexpensive--like $2. The linear park is long, and easily accessed from any of these garages.

Yes, dogs are allowed in the park on a leash. There are poop bag dispensers and trash cans to use along the way. I have let our dogs swim in the creek (on a leash) and this is also OK as far as I know.
About 1 block south of the park on Benz Street is a fenced dog park. It's about 1/3 or 1/2 acre and they can run around off leash. There is a water fountain for them in summer months.

There are indeed a few restaurants directly on the Carrol Creek linear park. LaPaz has Mexican, Döner serves German fare, and the Wine Kitchen has traditional American dishes. All three are within a block of where the creek crosses Market St. The others mentioned (Hinode and Five Guys) closed last winter.
The creek is hardly a river, but it is a very attractive waterway with lily pads and murals decorating the downtown portion. And, as others mentioned, you will find a multitude of eateries within a couple blocks easy walking from the actual "linear park".
