We arrived at Ilulissat and were greeted immediately in the luggage area by Arctic Adventures. They took us and our luggage direct to our hotel. We had a guided city tour with them, a hike to the UNESCO area (not as easy as described), a midnight sailing of the ice fjord, and a trip to see the sled dogs. Over all the guides were amazing. They took great care of us on all the tours. At one point on the hike, we had to turn back because my travel mate was having a hard time with the inclines. We made our own way back to the hotel. The guides called to ensure that we had made it back safe. About 3 hours before our departure, the guides asked if the one managing the desk could sit down with us and find out how things went - any feed back for them. They were very open to the feedback we gave which included the fact that the hike was more challenging than what was indicated, the boat was too small for the size of our group, and that the traditional Greenland dinner at the hotel was nothing more than pork hamburgers, french fries, one vegetable and gravy. Other than that it was an amazing trip.

Wir waren für eine Woche in Ilullissat auf Grönland. Da wir natürlich auch einiges sehen wollten buchten wir zwei Touren mit Arctic Adventure. Eine Tour buchte ich alleine zum kalbenden Gletscher Eqi und eine Tour buchten wir gemeinsam nämlich die Mitternachts-Tour zu den Eisbergen.
Als wir ankamen und wir unserem "Wohnungs-Vermieter" (Bed & Breakfast Paa und Jannik, sehr empfehlenswert) Jannik erzählten dass ich für Samstag eine Tour zum Eqi-Gletscher gebucht hatte, sah er uns ganz erstaunt an und sagte, er ruft mal dort an. Dann sagte uns Jannik, dass diese Agentur gar nicht in Grönland ansässig ist sondern in Dänemark und nur eine ganz kleine Agentur in einem Hotel hat die ausschließlich von Studenten geführt wird. Die Touren von den ansässigen Agenturen wurden bereits alle abgesagt, da zuviel Eis da wäre zum zum Gletscher zu kommen. Jannik erreichte dann Mikkel, einen Guide, der meinte, die Touren wären beide verschoben worden weil sie samstags und montags zu "gefährlich" wären. Beide Touren wurden auf Sonntag gelegt. Also ich wäre morgens von 8 bis ca. 14 Uhr unterwegs gewesen und dann wieder zu Mitternacht. Da wir das nicht wollten und wir sehr verärgert waren dass wir nicht informiert wurden, machte ich also die Tour am Sonntag und die zweite sollte am Dienstag stattfinden. Es wurde ausgemacht, ich werde am Sonntag um 7.30 Uhr abgeholt.
Am Sonntag stand ich also um 7.30 Uhr fertig draußen aber niemand kam. Ich wartete bis 8.30 Uhr dann riefen wir Mikkel an. Dieser war nicht da dafür ein Luk der kein Englisch sprach. Wir mussten Jannik unseren Vermieter wieder belästigen der Luk anrief und dabei raus kam, dass Luk auch kein Dänisch sprach sondern Deutsch. Also telefonierten wir wieder mit ihm und er meinte ganz unverschämt, da hätten wir uns doch erkundigen können ob sich die Tour verschiebt. Es wird nachmittags um 14.30 stattfinden. Ich glaubte schon nicht mehr dran wurde aber tatsächlich abgeholt. Der Guide war dann Matthias der wirklich sehr nett war. Wir waren auf dem Boot bloß zu dritt (es ging also nicht um "gefährlich" sondern einfach nur darum dass sie nicht genug Teilnehmer hatten) und die beiden anderen wussten bereits, dass die Tour nicht zum Eqi-Gletscher stattfinden kann. Mir sagte man nichts davon. Die Tour war zwar sehr schön aber halt für ziemlich viel Geld nicht zum Gletscher. Das Wetter war an diesem Tag auch nicht besser als am Samstag, es war an beiden Tagen herrliches Wetter.
Die zweite Tour wurde von Montag auf Dienstag verschoben. Montag wäre herrliches Wetter gewesen, Dienstag war nur Nebel und deshalb musste die Tour abgesagt werden.
Mikkel kam dann mit einer Bestätigung, dass wir das Geld zurück bekommen und wir sind gespannt ob das alles reibungslos klappt.
Insgesamt war das äußerst ärgerlich, allerdings waren Mikkel und Matthias wirklich sehr nett, Luk (übrigens ein Deutscher, die anderen beiden Dänen) sehr überheblich und nicht wirklich sympathisch.
Wir empfehlen einfach vor Ort bei den örtlichen Tour-Guides buchen. Die haben die gleichen Preise und man tut den Grönländern auch was Gutes. Hätten wir das vorher gewusst, hätten wir niemals bei Arctic Adventure gebucht.

I was strend by the airline with the risk of loosing all my booked trips. But when arrived the guides rescheduled it all and made it happen despite 1 day of delay. Guides were super friendly, kind, knowledgable, respectuful of the local reality,efficient and always smiling. I am not at all a tour person but I definitively reccomend it!!!

I booked three tours with Arctic Adventures when I was in Ilulissat and they were all very well done. I'm not much of a "tour" person and I like to wander on my own BUT after my first tour of the glaciers in Ilulissat Fjord (which turned into whale watching and glacier calving tour too!), I was hooked and booked two more tours (a glacier tour farther north, to include dinner in Rodebay settlement... and an in-home afternoon tea visit with locals). I highly recommend this group...the guides have a lot of energy and know a lot about the area...as they go through a fairly rigorous screening and training process before they even begin giving tours. All of the guides speak excellent English and there is never a communication problem.

We booked a number of excursions with Arctic Adventures - to see the calving glacier at Eqi, a whale safari (saw so many whales!), evening cruise, hike on the cecily trail and evening kayaking. The guides were very efficient, and always on time. They were knowledgeable and keen to help. Excellent English was spoken, and nothing was too much trouble.

After an initial misunderstanding - our flight was delayed but the airline told the agency it had been cancelled - The staff went out of their way to make our trip a good one. They rescheduled our city tour so it wouldn't interfere with our tour of the ice fjord, and generally did everything they could to make our 3 days in Ilulissat rewarding. Matthias and Maria were wonderful!

3 day trip to west Greenland .. based in Illulisaat . Fabulous guides , excellent English spoken, well organised and friendly .. felt very confident with them in this very remote area ... Rasmus Lisa and Mia excellent . Superb holiday and great experience. Would be happy to travel with them again .

Just returned from 3 day trip to Greenland. Artic adventures guided us through our trip. They took time to make sure we were happy with everything, kept us informed and looked after us in every way. The guides were excellent and very knowledgable.
Rasmus, Lisa and Mia were outstanding, caring dynamic individuals.
We did a boat trip to Glacier and a midnight cruise. Also tour of illusiat and to see Greenland dogs.

We were here for 3 days and its hard to say enough positive about the guides we had. All were terrific! Hanna took us on a guided city walk of Ilulissat; Josepha took us on a sailing sailing trip to Ilulissat Icefiord; Kirsha took us on the trip to Rodebay and the guided walk of that village; and Inuk took us on the walking tour to the old settlement Sermermiut valley and out to the Ilulissat Icefiord. They were all knowledgeable, personable, polite and just all around great! Thanks to you all! You made our stay in Greenland one of our very favorite places to travel! Don't know the price as all was booked as part of a tour. Our groups were small-5 of us at the most. We're "senior" citizens and did fine. They also met us at the airport upon arrival for transport to the Arctic Hotel and provided transportation back to the airport. They picked us up at our hotel (Arctic) for the tours.

During our stay at Ilulissat, we joined the tours organised by Arctic Adventures. We went on the Sunset cruise, Whales watching and Eqi glacier trips.
All the staff were very helpful, informed and friendly. Particular thanks to Sophie, Rachel and Ida. Who looked after us very well.
Sophie and Rachel even helped us to pass on a message to a local craftsman in Ilulissat when we were away at the Eqi Ice Camp. Making sure our carving commission is finished on time by the time we returned from the camp. I certainly will use them again.
