Illulissat est une petite ville isolée sans route pour aller quelque part en dehors de l'aéroport. Vous pourrez y voir des icebergs dans la baie de Disko. Pour les animaux marins je ne sais pas. You are correct mosquitoes are a problem in warmer weather. The locals have told me that the mosquitoes are worst because of the recent melt caused by climate change. A cold day or a windy day suppresses them somewhat. I wore mosquito repellent with no bites noted.

I hope you will love your stay in Ilulissat as much as I did. We stayed in June at the Arctic Hotel during the midnight sun and also as another traveler did can highly recommend the World of Greenland tours. The guides I might add are knowledgeable, friendly, and mindful of your physical capacities. The UNESCO site walk is easy for the most part but there is a really glorious view if you can go up to a viewing point. There is a paint marked way up the rocks that if you follow will make the fairly steep short climb more easy but ask your guide assistance if you need it. I am 67 with a knee replacement and arthritis in my good knee and I made the climb and descent safely. I mention this because the view his well worth it and the reward is a picnic table for a well deserved sit down view. Finally I would also advise that you invest in the Arctic Hotel's superior room which is on third floor. It offers a view of icebergs floating silently past the hotel. I did not stay in the hotel igloos that I suspect even better views. Be aware the sun is up for a very long time. My superior room did not have blackout curtains and a very useful item is a blindfold for sleep. The Ilulissat Icefjiord was a highpoint of my trip and I know World Of Greenland tours will make it yours also.

I am not sure which boat you will be on, but it could be a fisherman's boat. When we were there we had to climb down a latter to get on board. So it could be a bit tricky for you.

I booked flights, accommodation and day trips by myself. It is easy to arrange. The time I went last year, only AirGreenland operated from Copenhagen to Greenland. There were 3 tour companies in Iluslissat and a few accommodations/hotels to choose. The town is small but has everything you need. There are Germans, Dans, Thais, Philippines settled there. Most young locals speak English. If you decide to arrange the whole trip by yourself, I recommend to do day trips with Tourist Nature. It is a smaller company and a good way to avoid big groups of tourists. World of Greenland is a big company so they use bigger and more modern boats/vans for cruising trips or transfers. You can find their emails on their websites. Both companies will reply you quickly. For accommodation, I stayed at Ice Fjord apartment (part of Ice Fjord Hotel) and booked via Booking com. It is a collection of studio apartments located in town centre where you can walk less than 3mins to Tourists Nature and World of Greenland offices, shops and supermarkets. Very basic studio apartment, clean, powerful heating system and they offer free airport pick up/drop off. Although, there is no telephone line at the apartment or room service but mobile phone works and don't bother with room service, go hiking, see amazing ice fjord, enjoy the nature and live like locals. I find this town is very peaceful and is a real get away from busy city lifestyle.

Die Temperatur beträgt 10 bis 20 Grad Die Nebenkosten sind relativ hoch, da alles eingeführt werden muss. Die Ausflüge kann man im Intenret buchen, sind aber ebenfalls relativ teuer, aber gut organisiert. Es gibt drei Unterkünfte in Illisat, die in der Hochsaison meistens ausgebucht sind. Das beste Hotel ist das "Arctic", auf einem Hügel gelegen und einer tollen Aussicht auf die Eisberge. Auf jeden Falle lohnt sich eine Reie nach Grönland. Aber rechtzeitig buchen.

Probably not. There is a reason for the ferries not running in the winter: Ice! So you have to fly - og use a dogsled :-)
