Como parte de la parada casa obligada, durante el recorrido por la Baja, que es Santa Rosalía, está por supuesto la iglesia, situada en una calle muy vistosa que invita a caminarla y hasta pasar por un rico pan a El Boleo que queda a unos 130 mts.

This church has a very interesting history of how it ended up on a mining town in Baja after being showed alongside the Eiffel Tower in Paris. This is something that should be widely known and somehow it isn't. Unfortunately the church was closed due to the pandemic, but we read the history and took lots of pictures. Will come back when it's open in the future.

Our small cruise ship stopped at this lovely small town. We were welcomed by a Mariachi band and entertained by young dancers in beautiful Mexican dress. The dancers were excellent. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful. We took the walking tour which included the church of Santa Barbara, the patron saint of miners. The church is a steel structure constructed from a design by Eifel (of the Eifel Tower). The walking tour also included mining exhibits, the park, plaza, a mining museum, city hall, the cultural center and a bakery famous for its bread.A wonderful town off the beaten path!

This church is completely different from all the rest in the region. Made in a French style from the famous Gustave Eiffel. The town was once filled with French people working in the nearby mine.

Cette église, en structure métallique aurait été.. construite par Eiffel pour l'exposition universelle de 1889 et aurait été démontée pour être reconstruite a Santa Rosalia a la demande d’un directeur de l'usine BOLEO

Es una iglesia interesante ya que la historia es quien la creo fue el Ing, Eiffel y esta se arma y desarma, en efecto su parte delantera y algunos lados son de metal vale la pena mucho visitarla por la historia que tiene.

interessante vederla per il riferimento storico con Eiffel...suggestivo assistere anche solo di passaggio ad una celebrazione.
