Looking for a place to get in a round of golf on the I 95 corridor. This place just south of Richmond was a great find. The course was in excellent condition for March and the rates were very reasonable. Friendly staff and a nice lunch/snack selection. I will definetly play this course again

This is a very reasonable municipal course that was in very good condition when we played. It is a locals course, but is nice, and fun. It was a bit soggy when we were there, but not their fault- lots of rain. Very convenient to 95. The back 9 is a bit tight, so probably not the course for you if you are erratic and often hit a few fairways over.

Played Monday 8.10.15 at 3pm and finished a leisurely 18 in 4.0 hours plus a hotdog at the turn. Ault, Clark Design has again spun their magic on renovating one of their old courses.. Par 72, 6600 yards, Slope 132, great hole variation, multiple tees, risk/reward, nice staff and some serious golfers who were courteous AND fixed their ballmarks! Make the trip..

I really wanted to play a game of golf on this trip. Booked 7:57 tee time for the next day. Showed up 7:45, but no one there except other golfers. 8:00 came and went, still no one there. Asked another golfer what was going on. He said, "Awwww ... it happens sometimes". Maybe this is one of those "when in the south, think like the south" times. That, and the fact that Petersburg owns the course (probably not going to be any consequences for not showing up for work) I figured maybe another time. Hey Petersburg; Dogwood Trace GC. If you want to send me a voucher for one free play, I'll use it.

We happened upon this course on our way north from Charleston. Their club house currently is a mobile unit with beautiful plans for a new structure in their future. The staff was very helpful and offered directions. Unfortunately we were coming in behind a tournament. We were assured that they would be almost finished their round and we wouldn't catch up with them. Wrong. We caught up with the last on the 10th hole. After extended delays we headed back to the clubhouse after 12.
The course is beautiful, with older trees and beautiful greens. It's a shame we didn't get a chance to finish...we may go back.

Great course. From tee to green course in very good condition. Forgiving fairways, but nice imagination to layout. Front nine gets you warmed up for tighter fairways back. Water on back nine but for the most part not really in play. Worth the drive down from Richmond and will play again soon.

This little hidden gem in Petersburg Va. Is a must play. The course is in great shape and is well maintained. It is open to the public. The greens are true and fast. The fairways let you go down for it. They currently are working on a clubhouse. So look out.

We played most recently in the Lions club tournament on May 2 The course was in great shape and the staff are most helpful Since this course is owned and operated by the city of Petersburg it does not have an ABC license This may be a deterrent to some, but don't let it be This is a little gem just waiting to be discovered.
