What an amazing tour. Got a lift in the Beaver around the island with Pat McGee. Pat is a legend in the seaplane world. Final leg was flying the route the Japanese fly as they attacked Pearl. Great tour with a great pilot at the helm.

It was the most wonderful experience flying with Pat Magie, who is nice and humble about his achievements. He has flown accident free for decades and has the world record for the number of seaplane flying hours. Thank you Pat for this experience,

Great air tour of the island! We went up the coast of Waikiki, around the edge, and then North a bit. Then we flew through a mountain range (spectacular!) and over Pearl Harbor...the highlight of the trip for sure. I would highly recommend doing a land tour first. (See my review on Aloha Circle Island Tours). We were able to identify our stops and sites by air that we had seen first by land...really cool!

My wife surprised my son ( age 7 ) and myself with booking a 1hr flight on the seaplane, it was a really neat experience and the views great, it's a older aircraft with its own charm, the down side of the flight was the headset communication wasn't great & when the pilot was talking and telling us about one of the sites we were flying over he would cut out at times, I was really looking forward to fly over Pearl Harbor but I found this part of the flight went too quick? Still a very enjoyable trip.

These folks are super friendly and very professional. They have two planes. We went up in the 1956 model. They have to check with Air Traffic Control who told us to use Water Runway 4. We took off with a pilot and copilot. The pilot gave a lot of interesting information and history as we passed the various landmarks. When we got back, they had a cooler with cold drinks for us. The windows on a seaplane are not as deep as on a helicopter, so it was a little difficult to see forward. This company also has a floating wedding chapel. We had a great time and would recommend this activity.

I was born and raised in Honolulu and now that I live in New York City make an effort to visit family and friends back home twice a year. Each trip back I hunt for a new activity or experience and this sumer I booked a half-hour seaplane tour of O'ahu with Island Seaplane Service. The firm is run by a friendly husband-and-wife couple who moved to Hawaii from Alaska and have deep experience as seaplane operators. The reservation process was smooth, with prompt and courteous service. I changed the date and number of passengers in my reservation (me, a friend, and my Dad) last minute, and the team was happy to accommodate the request. The company's headquarters is a super charming, picturesque floating house and dock adjacent to Honolulu's main airport, with views across Ke'ehi Lagoon to Diamond Head and Waikiki. It was just the 3 of us and the pilot in the plane, and we took off listening to the sounds of air traffic control towers and Hawaiian steel guitar music. My Dad said it felt like we were back in the Pan-Am days of inter-island puddle jumpers. The half-hour tour was the right way to go, taking in STUNNING views of south O'ahu (Waikiki, Diamond Head, Koko Head) and east O'ahu (Waimanalo, Lanikai, Kailua, Kaneohe) before circling back through the Pali pass (read: soaring green cliffs) and looping around Pearl Harbor (with an unforgettable aerial view of the U.S.S.Arizona Memorial) before landing. The captain was knowledge and friendly, and provided commentary here and there as we flew. The plane's windows were nice and clear, which gave me the chance to take scores of beautiful photos of Honolulu by air. Such great memories. After landing, we grabbed cans of guava juice from the cooler on the floating dock, took pictures in front of the plane as the sun set, and admired the lagoon views before departing. Definitely recommended for groups of up to 4 adults (you may be in separate flights if your group is larger). Not recommended if you get nauseous easily as there are occasional bumps and dips. A great experience.

Nous avons choisi de faire le tour complet de l'île d'Oahu. Nous n'étions que deux, nous n'avions donc l'appareil et le pilote que pour nous !
Le décollage et l'atterrissage sur le lagon près de l'aéroport d'Honolulu sont assez impressionnants.
Le pilote commente le tour pendant tout le durée du vol.
Je conseille de faire ce tour en hydravion plutôt à la fin du séjour, ça permet de mieux se repérer et de mieux reconnaître les endroits qu'on a pu voir auparavant sur le plancher des vaches.
Très bonne organisation, on vient vous chercher et on vous ramène à votre hôtel.
Par contre le DVD offert à la fin est ridicule...

This is an amazing way to see the island, particularly if you have limited time.
We saw beautiful inland country, pineapple plantations, wind farms and valleys and mountains as well as the coastline. There were the beaches and high rise development of Waikiki and Diamond Head and we had the privilege of seeing the Pearl Harbour Memorials from the air. Truly a great way to see from a different perspective. Our pilot was very informative whilst obviously concentrating on the flying!!
It was well worth the cost.

Took the one hour island tour and we were not disappointed. The plane is a well maintained gem from the 1950s, you really got the feeling of flying. The plane has also been flying in several Hollywood movies.
The pilot gave of a great tour and pointed out all the main sights. We got some great views of Waikiki, Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, Waimanalo Beach, North Shore and Pearl Harbor.
The landing was really interesting as we flew over Honolulu International Airport before making a sharp turn and landing in the lagoon next to the airport. The tour also includes free hotel pick-up. Very friendly staff throughout the whole experience.
I can really recommend this tour if you are visiting Oahu.

We live on Oahu, and are always trying to find fun things to do with visiting family and friends. The tour takes you all the way around the island and the views are breathtaking. We saw a whale breech, and the pilot did a 360 bank around the Arizona giving a fantastic view of it and the Missouri. Got awesome photos of the North Shore, Waikiki, Diamond head, and Haunama Bay plus everywhere in between. This is totally a must do! Was worried that it my be bumpy landing on the water, but the smoothest landing I have ever had in a plane.
