The visit was great.We learned a lot of things, how the police worked and how the job had changed over the years. There was a lot to see and we were lucky to have Debbie with us, she is a retired police officer so she could explain a lot of things , she told us about the men and women whose photos we could see, what had happened to them….it made the visit more personal. Thank you Debbie.

Great variety of police related materials. Fun and engaging staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone in law enforcement or interested in the history in the area.

This was a guided tour led by retired police officers. They were very knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions. i was there for close to 2 hours and could have spent more time browsing on my own but I had something else to do. I would like to go back.

I have had the opportunity and privilege to tour the Greater Cincinnati Police Historical Society Museum. It is a wonderful place with amazing volunteers. The museum is packed with artifacts and information. The best part is a guided tour from one of the many retired law enforcement volunteers who are so passionate about their mission. In August, my father and I went down to the museum to check it out and met with several retired law enforcement volunteers to share my family's law enforcement story. I can't thank Melissa Witte at the museum enough for coordinating a tour of their amazing museum and for going beyond and above in securing some items for my 1939 police car display. She located several authentic items to the time period (circa 1948). I have met so many wonderful people on this journey of restoration of my great-grandfather's police car. - Wade Prentice Southwood

This museum was fascinating. Not only does it give the history of Cincinnati but it shows the various tools and information available to police over the history of the department. Our guide Rick, a retired police officer, was a wealth of information and gave us an interesting tour of the exhibits. I would recommend to anyone visiting Cincinnati to see this museum.

Amazing staff/volunteers that are full of knowledge and explain thoroughly about the items in the museum. Definitely a must see.

An interesting and informative museum. Our group of six friends spent two hours touring the place and would have liked to stayed longer. Our parking lot time had expired.
Highly recommend having one of the staff give you a guided tour. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Ask lots of questions. They don't mind.

My partner and I needed a few hours to kill before an obligation later in the evening in Cincinnati. We saw a forlorn sign indicating a museum of the police variety. Upon entering the had our interest and within short order, our attention. 8 dollars is a mere pittance to pay compared to vast abundance of knowledge, artifacts, wisdom, stories, and friends to be uncovered within their hallowed halls. We began our tour with Deb, an expert in negotiation with years of experience. She artfully explained the intricacies of police protocol, tools, and museum pieces and gave us unparalleled first-hand insight into the mindset of an officer.
She was a busy woman with many prior obligations and had to leave us halfway, but fortunately the calm, steady hands of Rick were there to pick us up where Debbie left us. Rick was quick witted and humorous. He had different experience in the line of duty and touched on different aspects of policing. After a short time, I already consider him a father figure to myself and hope he will consider being a godfather to my child- if I ever have one
Debbie did return! We were worried she abandoned us because my brother in-law can be a little talkative and sometimes his jokes can be a tad provocative. Although, with her training, she learned to push through until the job is done. She continued the tour but we did miss Rick.
All the while, the greenhorn Carl joined us. A new volunteer in the museum who watched the expert hands of Debbie and Rick to learn the ways of their trade. However he also had valuable insight to provide when prompted, especially about the WORKHOUSE, and I have no doubt that under their tutelage he may ever surpass them one day.
All in all, it was an unexpected gem of a place with a fantastic collection and even better people. It was an amazing way to kill a few hours and personally vouch for this museum on my honor. I left the museum with a piece of that place and the people in it and would be honored to be pulled over or questioned by any officer in the tri-state area.

Small but very interesting museum staffed by retired LE officers. When they offer you a tour - take it. We spend about 2 hours there.
